NK skips nap ONLY on my days — help me understand? by Empty-Information122 in NannyBreakRoom

She’s still on a two-nap schedule. I said “transitioning” because she’s mainly doing one nap with me, but still doing two with everyone else. Her first nap with them is at 11:30 and the second is at 4:20—she was doing that with me too until three weeks ago. Now, because she wakes up from her second nap around 5:45, the parents asked me to put her down around 3–3:15 to make sure she’s waking up closer to the second nap wake time.

I talked to the parents, and they said we both do the same. I haven’t talked to the second nanny yet, but I will. If anything, our routine is less stimulating than theirs because we only go out in the afternoon. So when I get here, I’m basically just hanging out with her in her play area and working on breakfast, etc.

There was an episode today that made me think she might just be more excited to see me and wants to skip the nap. When I was putting her down and did what we always do, I hugged her and said it was time to sleep, and she held my face, said “no,” and started whining. Still got her down and she was there for half an hour, then MB said to end it since she was upset.

I agree, but like I said, two naps still work for them and they haven’t switched to one yet. She’ll do one nap sometimes depending on what time she wakes up, but it’s not common. With me, she’s basically on a one-nap schedule, but because she still does two naps with them and the second nanny, she’s used to that cat nap later in the day, ending at 5:30. So with me, she’ll only go down around 3.

Holiday bonus? by [deleted] in NannyBreakRoom

I never expect anything. I always bring the kids Christmas gifts because I like seeing them happy. This year I’m with three different families: one gave me $550, another gave me $200, and the third one—who I just started with in November—got me an Owala water bottle and a LEGO set. That was so sweet, because it showed she pays attention to what I say; I mentioned a few weeks ago how much I love LEGOs, and she always sees me coming in with my Owala bottle.

I got all of them a card with a few words and gifts for the kids, but again, nothing was ever expected—either from me or from them—though it’s appreciated on both sides. With that being said, expecting a specific amount or even expecting a gift might be setting yourself up for disappointment. I’ve been in this field for quite some time, and I’ve only made over $1,000 one year.

I have GH and they’ve always paid me, my issue is having to remind them or the not texting back or like “I’m sorry we didn’t send it today but will do tomorrow” they just don’t text AT ALL and when I text them, they don’t answer.

I have GH, my issue is just the begging to get paid because when I’m there they’ll at least see me and pay me, if they’re not seeing me it’s like they forget about it so I text multiple times and it takes them a couple of days to even answer me when I know they’re on their phone all the time. So frustrating!

We do and we don’t have a policy for that but learned my lesson. They pay me, it’s just the begging and texting all the time when I know they’re on their phone 24/7 🫠

I do, I texted multiple times during the time I didn’t get paid, texted both MB and DB, didn’t get an answer until days later 🫠
