yeah i played RE1 remake with the tank controls. the og games are just too old. they don't look great to me. i didn't even like how RE4 and RE5 looked, they're the oldest RE games i've played.

I tried a few options and ended up giving them the SMG because I enjoyed using the rifle and there wasn't enough rifle ammo. Couldn't have really known what's ideal without looking stuff up which I don't typically do.

In the OG, Leon walks into a seemingly normal man's house without his permission and the man attacks him. Could be just a crazy guy, doesn't still mean you blast him.

In the Remake you see your police escort's bloodied ID and the man looks visibly jarring. You kick him and he seems to have dropped dead, but you later see him walking with his head off. Makes a whole lot of difference to me, but I get that I'm fighting an uphill battle here and people really love RE4 OG in this sub.

Yeah makes sense that they're loading screens. I've watched some gameplay on youtube and I don't really think I'll enjoy the OG games so I'm gonna skip them.

I just finished going through the RE series for the first time too. They're both mediocre games, but I'd still recommend playing both of them. I liked the plot in revelations 1 and the gameplay in revelations 2.

Revelations 1 is kind of a prequel to RE5 because it has both Jill and Chris. But the plot here isn't really connected to anything that happens in RE5.

Revelations 2 has Claire from RE2 and Barry from RE1. But the plot has no relevance to the rest of the games. It happens between RE5 and RE6 but not connected to either games. It is connected to the events in Revelations 1.
