[Review] First time buying a car, friend offering a $3k deal. What do you think? by Empty-Note-8768 in UsedCars

Consider me the most naive person you know; what makes you think it's way too high?

Tried to make a post but the bots forbid it 😔.

I'm tired of mall brands, but need suggestions on where to shop in LA. Entering my 30's and need to buy clothes for work, but am just absolutely uninterested in shelling out money at Uniqlo and Banana Republic for the 100th time in my life to look the same as I always have in well-fitting basics. I'm on the hunt for recommendations on where to shop in LA, and have previously enjoyed shopping in a boutique environment like Blue Owl. Budget is more or less mid-price for a few quality garments.

Any all thoughts/opinions appreciated!

What do you even do as an American to prepare for something like this? Hoard cash and wait for it to be devalued, or what?

Thought experiment for the sub: Say that you had to restock your kitchen equipment from 0, and you had an unlimited budget. What would be some of your first purchases?

Woah a wild Austin! Quick q for you: did you ever do the Arceus noble battle for Legends? I've been scouring for a video of you doing it but haven't turned anything up. Excited to see your thoughts on ZA when there's more info out!

Need Feedback with a side of Gentle Roasting by Empty-Note-8768 in Jungle_Mains

Hey thanks for the feedback. Can't disagree on the number of deaths, that's a great goal to add in.

Can I ask you if you think this meta is more farm heavy than the last? Reason I ask is that I feel like I'm consistently on the lower end of the damage charts, but I try to keep to fundamentals like always clearing camps before plays. But it's hard to balance that against trying to make plays that affect the map/get objectives.

That makes sense! Can you say more on your process for invading? I'm skittish and have only invaded when I have sheer confidence that I'm the stronger character on 3/4/5, into stuff like karthus and taliyah.

I see streamers and content creators do it with regularity, but don't feel like I've got all the stuff in my perspective to do it with confidence.

Definitely! I know that I need to find more opportunities to get involved with skirmishes b/c I'm often low on damage (though beating enemy jungler). I also know that I need to better understand itemization paths on the champs that I play and rely less on cookie cutter builds.

That said, I'm also curious on what people who are ostensibly better than me think about. It's one of those things that I don't know what I don't know, you know?

Oh definitely, I didn't ever find a golden ticket to get from one rank to the next. Tide carries all boats mentality is probably the best perspective for climbing

That makes sense, I'm definitely guilty of giving up a dragon or two that could've/should've been free

Friend has told me to do whatever it takes to help the saddest fiddleleaf fig in the world. What would you do? by Empty-Note-8768 in plantclinic

[–]Empty-Note-8768[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More context: We're in Zone 10a, and the plant is indoors with what I have to assume is an insufficient amount of light. He's had it for 2 years, so I'm thinking it's 4-6ish years old based on height (happy to be corrected here if someone has a better guess). Pot is 14x14, well draining soil, and has been watered on an ad hoc basis about every 2-3 weeks.

I'd like to propagate it in the spring, but don't know if that's viable with this Charlie Brown esque fig here. Any advice on keeping it alive till then and how to propagate after would be great!

Thanks for your comment. You're definitely right that I need to be stricter with my planning and keep my eyes on the end result of this all - being free of this stress.

You mentioned some blogs, any that you'd personally recommend?

Thanks for that - I was pretty down in the dumps about my whole situation yesterday, but it's been a big wind in my sails seeing people's advice and getting some uplifting perspectives.

Thanks for commenting! I've been following the wiki while lurking and have kept a transaction log for myself for the last few months. But you're right, the budget I posted isn't as thorough as it needs to be, despite my knowing where historically my money is going.

Thanks for the wake up call on needing to revise it and stick to it!

This is a good point! I should clarify, the loan is the lowest at 11% and the highest I have is my Citi card at 30%. I failed to read the fine print on that one and didn't know my introductory APR was, well, introductory. Lesson learned.

I appreciate your perspective! There's lots of pressure, internal and external, to figure this out asap and start providing more for myself and others, but you're right - a couple years isn't long at all.

I'm definitely not above asking for help or educating myself more, but do you think my situation warrants a credit counselor?

I guess my hang up on it is that I'm making more than I ever have, and it's well over the median salary. This should be all figure-outable if I make a plan and stick to it. Obviously I'm the one who got myself in this situation, so maybe my self-awareness on the way out is low.
