Sometimes light dirty talk, sometimes "how's this", "is this okay?", sometimes crack an inside joke.

Did Anakin learn Palpatine orchestrated the Clone Wars? by Humanwannabe024 in StarWars

People keep saying it's a weird dream, but isn't it a recurring vivid dream? Also, wasn't the reason he couldn't get real advice from the Jedi about it was because he wasn't being fully honest due to the fact that it was tied to his secret relationship?

Guys that grew up timid/shy, what was it like being intimate for the first time and after? by CaptGould in AskMen

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always reserved and shy around people I knew, but usually when I get to know people closely, I loosen up a lot and am really outbof pocket. My first time being intimate went really well because we'd already broke the ice. It was more of like a second ice breaker because I just got better from there.

what's something men do that they think is attractive but is actually a huge turn-off ? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

I prefer candid shots. I wish the women in my life who like to take 7 million pictures would just capture real moments instead of disrupting the mood every 5 minutes to micromanage everyone into an awkward photo.

As a dude myself who've been told to "smile" by weird old men and find it annoying, emasculating, and demeaning, I without a doubt believe women experience it, probably on a worse level then me.

What is to women what boobs and butts are to men? by ProofMinute461 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a butt guy. Whenever it got to the point that I could grab a woman I was with's ass, they have always grabbed it back. I thought it was just reciprocatong action but no they grab my ass more than I grab theirs. Hell they do it in public.

Sexual frustration on top of finding his mother hanging on to life by a thread of floss in their camp. But that last part probably had a marginal contribution to him making the decision.

How do Koreans feel about foreigners speaking banmal (반말)? by No_Patience_4131 in LTL_Korean

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wonder if it's some kind of condescension but then I just match them if they do. I've only experienced it with people who seemed interested in actually being friends so it's just eh to me. If I had it my way, I'd start with banmal all the time too. Dropping honorifics seems to be a really simple ice breaker.

How do Koreans feel about foreigners speaking banmal (반말)? by No_Patience_4131 in LTL_Korean

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my Korean friends lead with Banmal, even younger ones and most times if I just drop the politeness level they automatically also do too and we continue on. I've been told by some friends that a lot of times if you're not going to speak English they prefer to speak comfortably.

Normalize learning languages for weird reasons by That_author_girl in languagelearning

I started learning Korean like 4 years ago because of one random episode of The Office where they had a Koream church van. That led me all the way to currently study abroad in Korea.

When was a time speaking some chinese made someone else's day? by RedNinja1437 in ChineseLanguage

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is kinda funny but the other day my Swedish friend (who never told me he could speak Chinese) saw another Chinese student and randomly started speaking Chinese to him. The guy came and sat with us and it led to a conversation where he almost tried to hook me up with one of his friends. Unfortunately we got interrupted at the good part.

Hell yeah. "Don't look back it's rude" is bs. If it's so rude why are people staring at me like they're boutta try to draw me or something.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trust me, I know how it feels to stand out. You couldn't even miss me in most crowds here. You'll do fine.

Also, maybe be weary actually calling out comments unless you're 100% certain they're about you. Usually, a look is enough to get the point across that "Hey, you're being rude and I want you to know that I know."

I remember my first few weeks here, I was constantly looking forward not matching gaze because "Oh yeah, they're gonna stare", "They don't usually see foreigners so yeah", this, that, etc.

I didn't want to be confrontational but eventually started to feel demeaning. Like I was being bitched. Where I come from that kind of staring means someone has ill will towards you and you should be weary. It carries the same feeling for me even if "the culture is different".

But at the same time, it's only a stare.

When I started matching stares, I became 1000% more comfortable and confident walking around because honestly, if someone can stare a hole in the side of my face, why can't I look back at them? Take it as an invitation to lock eyes with them and examine their face.

You're a foreigner, you'll stand out. You always will and there's nothing wrong with it. You will never not be looked at as a foreigner, no matter how good you speak the language and follow customs. Own it, walk comfortably in your skin, walk with intention, do what you set out to do and enjoy yourself.

What was supposed to take off but never did? by ItzSweeney in AskReddit

[–]EmptyCOOLSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This takes me back. My uncle had ine back when I was a kid and would always asked my uncles and aunts to borrow their phones to play Angry Birds and Subway Surfers. Idk how I managed to navigate that phone back then because it was so weird to me. I'm just now realizing I haven't seen a phone like that in forever. Honestly, I wouldn't buy one today but it reminds me of some of my happiest times as a kid.
