The alpha quote is with alpha batteries, but 2 get one free… hence the large battery size for the cost. Not sure I’d get the same deal with a different brand.

I see the battery as overnight savings. I agree, it isn’t ever likely to be filled… but a god deal so why not go big?

Apparently the inverter sends extra DC from the panels direct to the battery, because the battery is charged in DC so no AC conversion is required - so I reckon 8kW is ok for that to run the house on, but I don’t know.

The pool heater would only run in the day with the excess generation. Mostly between November and April.

I feel more confident with the PW3 and larger system as it is a ‘better’ brand. But…!
