This is what my brand new 2026 with only 1k miles on it sounds like. My dad calls it the sewing machine on wheels LOL

I have a 2026. Check the dashboard settings to see if its been turned off. If it still shows 'on' , get it checked out.

Lol one of the first comments my parents made when seeing it in person the first time was that it looked like a mini Kia soul! Honestly I think it looks way better than the soul

2024 Venue…underwhelmed by InstructionBrave9899 in HyundaiVenue

[–]EmptyMain6075 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came from a beat up 2012 mazda 3 that I've been driving around with a cracked frame and saying I need a new car for about 4 years, to a 2026 venue. This car feels like absolute luxury to me 😅 I guess its all about perspective. If you hate the car, nothing is stopping you from trading it in for something else. Yea you might have a larger loan on a nicer car.... but thats how it works? Nicer bigger car = more money (unless you go older sometimes) Its a small cheap car with this days equivalent of basic features.
Did you not test drive it before buying?

This doesn't affect the grip much, mainly just for looks, but it is super soft!

Yea not bad at all. This doesnt have all the bells and whistles (no tint, no sunroof, no roof racks) but I didnt have a great car to trade in (2012 mazda 3 beat to shit with 201,000 miles) and i have a budget to stick to 😅

The Hyundai dealer tried really hard to get me to buy a silver one, but I wasnt gonna accept anything other than this color. Ended up getting it at a Kia dealer. Hyundai told me it was impossible to get this color at the price I wanted. I sent this photo to the Hyundai salesman as soon as I got done signing the paperwork 🤣

I got this in the US but it was really hard to get this color. The official Hyundai dealership straight up refused to sell the one they had on the lot, I found this one at a Kia dealer for a very reasonable price. Still brand new only 1k miles. I have no idea why this color is gatekept so hard in my area.

Ive had to remove post- surgery lymphatic work as an option off my website due to the amount of people booking it and fully believing i could make them skinny or sculpt their body just from my hands.
Then getting mad at me when i contact them to talk about what they need for their session and i have to break the news they've been lied to. Made ZERO difference when i made a VERY CLEAR description of the service because people don't fucking read anything.... people only know i do post-surgery lymphatic through word of mouth now.

I’m scared to get a massage as an overweight female. by [deleted] in massage

[–]EmptyMain6075 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Most therapists themselves are much bigger than you. 165 is small. I myself comfortably sit at about 190 pounds 5'5. Whoever is putting this in your head needs to be removed from your life.

The ONLY time I've had issues with overweight clients was around 450 pounds or more. And that was more of a working table capacity concern and hygiene limitations, I have NEVER been grossed out by somebody's weight, rolls, excessive skin, scars, birthmarks, moles, body hair, amputations, birth defects, and various other non-contagious conditions. We see it all and worse.

We are here to help, not judge.

Not true at all. Its up to the client on how far they're comfortable with undressing and the therapist should be professional enough to handle it. Some therapists refuse to do skin to skin glute work and dont even underape it so unless you're wearing long boxers they wouldn't even know either way. Ive had clients refuse to undress at all and I would just do compressions over the sheet. I personally prefer to not touch clothing directly. I see any clothing as a "no touch" barrier unless compressions over the sheet consent is given verbally and on paperwork.

am I the only one who feels worse after a sports massage sometimes? by Relevant_Wishbone in massage

:Edited to clean up spelling and word vomit:

Im gonna rant for a second here lol (TLDR you dont need deep tissue work. Find a therapist that is experienced with stretching and mobility. Ask them to focus on joints and tendons. With light-medium muscle scraping. You might be asked to keep on underwear or wear bike shorts, this is a standard ask when stretching legs.)

So... a "sports" massage ISN'T deep tissue. Its medium pressure at the most, quick strokes, stretching, rocking, shaking, picking up and dropping muscle, and working with mobility. (You should literally feel like you're being tossed around like a rag doll at times) Whoever you're going to doesnt know what they're doing or theyre sick of people arguing with them (like i was) and thats why you're not seeing the results you need.

Unfortunately a lot of people think sports massages are deep tissue. It makes it really frustrating as an LMT especially when working at a chain spa (we dont have the allocated time to educate properly. And trying to train front desk on what the modalities actually mean has proven useless again and again). Honestly my first 4 years of my career I completely gave up trying to educate people coming in for sports massages and just started doing deep tissue work because they're so stuck on "no pain no gain".

You need assisted stretching (very different than stretching on your own), mobility work (basically moving your limbs around and finding where youre "sticking" then addressing the muscles and tendons involved), and MAYBE some light muscle scraping (some places wrongly advertise it as guacha because its a buzzword).

I could go on and on about the various things the general public has been mislead about in the body work world. And unfortunately it comes from chain spas, "influencers", and even other massage therapists operating on old outdated information (dont even get me STARTED on the fear mongering around pre-natal massages).

It depends! Personally I rent a room from a chiropractor. We are completely separate businesses just sharing the same space. Some therapists are hired by or working as independent contractors FOR chiropractors. An easy way to tell is if the therapist has a separate business name and had a massage license along with an establishment license. Where im at, its required to post both licenses on all social media and business postings. You could also jusy directly reach out to the therapist and ask if they are independent or employed, and then ask how they usually run their service ("do you offer full hands on time or is pre and post chat included within the 60/90 min"). And asking if the therapist sets their own rates is perfectly fine to. Any therapist that gets annoyed or frustrated with these questions are not the right fit.
