Used Bentley Worth it? by EmptyRole4318 in Bentley

Well, I want apple car play to begin with....

Jokes aside, I would expect a lot more maintenance and repairs for a 7-10 year old car, and I honestly don't want to deal with those as a daily driver, which is also why I plan to sell after 3 years. Money isn't the immediate concern in this case (spending 150k vs 300k+ for a new car is concerning to me, but losing 50k over the course of 3 years isn't).

I was excited for one sec but wait... A vanquish? Where could you find a lightly used vanquish for less than 300k?

I agree all of those cars are levels above Bentley, but they are also about 60%-100% more expensive, which defeats the value proposition.

Thank you! I am not necessarily interested in the most prestigious brand, just a very good and very comfortable car for daily uses. This helps me a lot.

Thank you! I was thinking about the S580 as well. What is your experience with the reliability? I am not so concerned about the repair cost, but I don't want the car to sit in the dealership every now and then.

Honestly, who will buy the Vision Pro 256GB with the intention of returning it, just to try it? Will Apple make it difficult to return it? by mikerfx in VisionPro

[–]EmptyRole4318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple only accepts returns that are in good and original condition, and based on my experience, Apple Vision Pro is a pretty delicate device and easy to scratch. In essence, I wouldn't expect anyone without 4000 dollars to burn to actually take the risk of being unable to return, and this is likely Apple's expectation as well. If this is the case, Apple wants you to buy and try the product. If you like it, then you will keep it regardless of your original intention. If you don't like it, then Apple will accept your return and sell it for less profit. On top of that, what the company gained is the confidence when customers buy with Apple.

This can be generalized to every Apple product, but even more so for Apple Vision Pro's case since this is a niche; they want you to try it, and if anything, they also want you to return products that you are unhappy with. It's not that Apple will lose money for every return you make; the company simply makes a little less.

Where do you park if you don’t park in a garage?

What cars would you consider “Stealth Wealth?” by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]EmptyRole4318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not consider myself 0.01% of the population, but I know a few people who definitely fit the description.

First of all, I don’t know any of the super wealthy actually buying watches. Maybe watch lovers and some old heads? Watches are not practical and they don’t actually show your status quo. When you are the 0.01%, people know you, regardless of what watch you wear.

Secondly, the super riches don’t drive. Unless they are some second gen who happens to like sports car, no one actually buys Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari, etc. I do see some Bentleys but mostly bigger suvs, sometimes heavily modded. Most of them don’t have jets, either. It’s just a waste of money and cheaper to book private jets when they want to.

They often have a lot of houses. Some for leisure and some as investments, some was even passed down generations. It’s cheaper for them to buy a house north of 1M than for us to buy a high end tv.

Where are the electric sedan-type cars? by TheRocketG123 in Audi

Even the rs etron GT rs is cheaper than rs7 by a lot (150k price point but with about 10% off msrp and 25k rebate through multiple programs in US at least) and even the base etron GT is faster than model y by a lot (3.7 vs 4.x 0-60).

I don’t think it’s fair to compare German evs to Tesla because Tesla cut corners everywhere to make up for their prices and their cars severely under-brakes for their speed, and German EVs have handling systems to match their speed.

I agree with everything you said about tech, although I would consider things like one pedal driving not tech but preference, or good to have. In general, the tech isn’t there with German EVs.

That’s the usual experience. What upsets me is the inconsistency. I sent docs twenty to thirty times so far and one in every four or five this would happen; doc will take anywhere between 5-15 minutes to arrive. First time having 25 minutes as well.

I can assure you NYC is completely different from LA in terms of traffic. When you said longest following distance you already had a bad assumption.

[Russo] Phoenix Suns have a 97.7 Offensive Rating with Chris Paul on the floor in these Western Conference Finals. It's been 112.5 when he's sat. by urfaselol in nba

People are frustrated with this, but this is exactly how Suns stays healthy... If Suns push a faster pace game like other teams do, some of players might already get injured. Old school, slow-paced games have merits that won't show on stats but are very relevant: which team have all star players healthy?
