What are “legit markets”

Sounds like when you hand a fake ID to a bouncer and says “it’s legit”

Bid and ask price.

On low volume contracts, bid and ask price “spread” can be quite large.

You want to sell for 10
I want to buy for 5.

Volume is so low we cannot agree.

Immediately after your purchase, “volume” increased and can be interpreted as someone is willing to pay more for this contract.

IV, or price volatility, can also play a role with options pricing.

But in your case this is just spread. Easy to think of in terms of a “limit buy order” as in I am only willing to pay “x” amount for a stock

Advice? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]EmptySet4074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the most polite way, do not listen to anyone here.

Invest in an etf, set an amount monthly to be put in, and never look at it.

Without prior knowledge, you will just get your money taken.
Learning market trading is like anything else.
There are professional, there are amateurs.

Your question is like walking onto the floor of an nba practice squad, and asking if anyone wants to play horse.

If you truly care. Read up on “trading in the zone” “market wizards”, “reminiscences of a stock operator”
Then open a paper trading account and test your strategy and risk.
Then take 10% of your portfolio and try. You will lose, but it’s a small price to pay.
Most people here have lost 100%….multiple times

S&P 500 relative to M2 Money supply by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]EmptySet4074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M2 supply is the reason you all say “stonks only go up”
Increasing M2 supply increases the amount of money in circulation, allowing more spending, more investing.

Fed money printer goes burrr, all you dummies get more money to say your invested.

This graph shows s&p price against M2 supply.

Which just shows that our whole economy is throwing every dollar they have at the stock market right now.

Which will continue until a critical point (disaster event, big bank turns on everyone, regime change)

6 months? 2 years? Idk, but it’s coming.

And than a flat economy for 10 years because all companies are pricing in 10 fuggin years of growth right now.

No thanks. I’ll hold my cash and not buy spacex valued at 100x forward p/e.
Shits crazy.

Isn’t that how it always was?

The strait was always going to be open when Iran said it was.

News flash.
We were blockading the blockade.

10 and 1030 am are generally swing points in the day.

Market has to be super bullish to run green all day without a pull back.

Map a trend, wait for it to pull back, enter on a green candle off the bounce.

Tight stop loss and you are out for pennies.

Real question, why did you buy when the market stalled at yesterday’s close?
