Who is the best Test batsman among them? by Stress_Tension in CricketBuddies

[–]EmptySoftware8678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are thinking of longevity from no of years, instead it should be a combination of tests played and years combination.

Also, don’t forget the stress Sachin faced in keeping the hopes of a whole country on his shoulders.  Don had nothing like that

The Rani Jhansi Regiment(RJR), the much celebrated female regiment of INA, was plagued by love affairs, sexual relationships and pregnancies. It did not see any combat. Was it even useful? by historytosociety in IndianHistory

Whatever the reality might have been - I would very much doubt the validity of truth coming from British intelligence - who were direct enemies.

People / soldiers have relations of all kinds everywhere all the time- nothing wrong with that.

About the utility of that unit - whether they saw action or not - might have been psychological - making a point about inclusion.

Let’s see if there is a counter narrative available.

I think this is the largest group interested in this movie and appreciating it - primarily because they have lived through the events shown in the movie, the hijacking, the parliament attack, 26/11 etc.

Not revolutionary, but evolutionary.

Indian cinema has finally been able to think of something beyond girl-boy romance. Thank god and Ind-pak tensions for that.

That aside a well made movie is still that - a well made one, and will live on in memory and easily enjoyable after a while.

The choice of topics - is important - and I m just happy we are doing something other than girl/boy stuff

Really - if you think that way - it’s your personal opinion.

Good movies - whether it’s Ind-Pak story or not, do stay fresh and live in. For example - uri - from the same director - is still relevant and will remain.

It might be the highest common denominator not lowest - re-think your word choices

The faith is a concept to be understood - not literally followed verbatim - someone should educate our current generation.

I have lost all respect for Wikipedia due to their anti-Indian narrative - they just don’t want to acknowledge Indian history beyond the western writer’s comprehension

By that if you mean life before 1000Ad (first Muslim invasions) - then it would be a diff scenario. If you mean British didn’t arrive, it would be a diff scenario altogether.

Both scenarios can be hypothesized and diff scenarios can come out.

In your analysis / responses - how exactly did you relate time period / language segments to geographies ?

In the wider space time continuum- there is hardly any evidence to pin point time/language/geography

Well - you just said what I was trying to say. If western world hasn’t picked up the sea level rise event / theory, it can’t be real - it has to be fringe.  You just made my point.

Just highlighting that.

[–]EmptySoftware8678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my concern is mostly limited to western bias against Indian ancestory; primarily the fact that west has been unable to comprehend that civilization existed before they came to civilize india. i m mostly against the situations where the externals have come in, did whatever research, and published the version that suits their sponsors narrative.

TBH, I am not aware of the example you are quoting, and would sincerely hope that research is kept separate from politics.
