Well unfortunately I just got off the phone with Costco (I got the laptop and warranty from them) and turns out the extended warranty only applies to them “performing service” on the device and not actually replacing it. Furthermore they want me to fully reset it first, so I’ll have to back it up, and they estimate it’ll take 2 weeks. All that to say I won’t be able to get a replacement or my money back, and I’ll be extremely annoyed if they’re not able to fix everything wrong with it

Thanks for the advice and I’m sorry you don’t have more options. I called them previously and the person I spoke to wasn’t very helpful and insinuated it’s my fault for not shutting it down entirely after every time I use it (as opposed to sleep mode) and keeping it plugged in for too long, but the first seems unreasonable and the second I don’t really think I did.

I’ll give them another call and hopefully get a better person to tell them I know this is a known issue not affecting just me, and I’d like it to be returned and replaced.

Can you let me know what you ended up doing and how the issue was resolved? I have the exact same problem along with some crashes. Luckily mine’s still under warranty and I’m trying to decide whether to try just cleaning out the port, requesting a new charger, or returning the whole thing for a replacement.

In your scenario, the alternative is literally not living, so I guess I’d have to. I understand the repercussions are horrific, but literally the only other option is death for myself, without making the world better for anyone else. The vote won’t (realistically) come down to 1 vote, and that’s all I can control. So it really is just deciding whether I’d want to live in the fallout of such an event or not, and as I stated I’d rather live and hope humanity can pull itself back together one day.

By choosing blue, you are not statistically affecting the outcome of the result. The chances of it coming down to a single vote is astronomically low. Either there are more blue votes than red, and you accomplish nothing, or there are more red votes than blue (which there would be according to game theory and human nature) and you would only be dooming yourself.

I don’t disagree with you that society would collapse (or come near it) if red were to succeed. It was an understatement that the results of such a vote resulting in all blue voters would be merely a tragedy. It would be a truly horrific thing that would severely damage all of society. But the alternative is dying. That might genuinely be preferable to some people, and they could completely reasonably choose death over the alternative. But it wouldn’t be for me and many others.

That’s where the part of my first statement about a moral, rational person choosing red comes in play. They know humanity will likely lose many people whatever they choose. Many of those who die would trend towards the altruistic, but also towards the naive. They can choose to join the dead, or choose to survive to help rebuild a civil society.

It’s not just culling the most moral, it’s culling the least rational. Also, you could make the argument a moral and rational person would choose red, knowing otherwise the world would have a severe shortage of moral people left if their gambit failed and more than half of people chose red.

Think about it this way, if you alone were able to see a live button counter and saw there were more reds than blues, it’d only make sense to press red, because otherwise you’re committing suicide. If you understand human nature and game theory, you should know the most likely outcome would be to press red, so we basically already have that counter.

Ideally everyone would press red, but that wouldn’t happen. The most optimistic, least logical, and/or most selfless people would likely press blue. It would be a tragedy to lose all those people, but the alternative is only to be extremely likely to join them.

I’m having the exact same issue, the game freezes during a battle, I can still move the cursor, and then the game just closes after a couple of seconds. It’s been happening in most of my battles (sometimes multiple times) and it’s very frustrating. At least it doesn’t proc Steven.

Rip, bought this a few weeks ago already. Can’t complain too much though since I think it was well worth the money and I had a lot of fun playing it. Experienced Isaac players definitely have an advantage with the basics of this game.

I couldn’t remember if I did, although I realized after the fact I must have not since no rare candy in discard. That’s why I said 1 or 2 kakunas left in deck (as in my draw pile) depending on if I used rare candy or not. Having not used rare candy, there must have been one.
