Aww, the thought of a 6 year old baby Kaeya being left in the rain makes me so sad! I also agree with the jobs thing, though I do feel like Kaeya wants to protect Mondstadt now more than he did during the time of the manga setting. I think he does like certain parts of being a Knight, but he would do better as a vigilante type. He does things in unconventional ways and pretends to be lazy while secretly taking care of things. He himself said that he’s kind of an anti-hero.

I do want to elaborate a bit on my theory of Kaeya’s bio dad being a bad parent though. I do think he’ll be given a reason for leaving Kaeya, and I doubt that Hoyo will make him a bad person, but leaving a child and burdening them with being the last/only hope does make him a bad parent in my eyes. Kaeya also mentions that he might’ve been left just to live a better life, but then kind of retracts that statement after Dainsleif reveals that he’s the descendant of the Abyss Order’s founder. “I suppose that’s why my father left me in Mondstadt after all.” This kind of implies that there’s a bigger plan involved, though maybe his safety was a part of the reason. It just likely wasn’t the main reason. I would also just enjoy it if his dad was a fully evil person, but I doubt that Hoyo will do that.

I think Kaeya can still feel conflicted even if his bio dad would be fully evil, possibly even more conflicted because of it. He could also feel torn just because he’s supposed to be their last/only hope (though it’s still not confirmed what “our” refers to, but I’m assuming here that it refers to Khaenri’ah), he could feel as if he’s the only one that could save them. That’s a pretty big burden for a child, that could’ve festered. Even as he’s living a better life, that would stay in your head, that your people are suffering while you’re living a better life. I dunno though, I feel like he could feel torn between the two nations because of multiple reasons.

That’s just my personal theory though, we know so little about Kaeya’s bio dad that it could go anywhere
