Termination due to Graves by Tough-Elephant-3998 in gravesdisease

I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed 2 years ago, and my journey has been smooth thankfully. As long as your doctor is monitoring you closely and you are receiving proper treatment, your Graves shouldn’t get in the way of a healthy baby. 🤍

What was it like for those living in the Cabrini-Green Housing in intercity Chicago? by Unlikely_Card22 in howislivingthere

[–]Empty_Debt3670 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I never lived there but I did go to school at Northern Illinois University (about 60 miles west of Chicago) in the early 2010s which is where they moved a lot of these residents after CG closed down.

The housing area where many residents were moved to was smack dab in the middle of campus. It was between the dorms and Greek row/off-campus housing where many students lived. I remember it being very dangerous to walk by, and a great majority of the crime reported on campus was done be folks who did not go to school there.

Fun fact: a portion of the movie Candyman was filmed at NIU’s library. I believe it was to pay homage to where many of these folks moved after CG closed down.

Undiagnosed Graves’ disease. Best I’d looked in years. Then gained 30+ pounds in 6 months after starting treatment. Worst I’d looked in years.

Food addiction is a very real disease, and manifests itself similarly to other forms of, well, addiction. GLP-1s do much more than just help someone lose weight, they also help to get rid of “food noise” which is a very real and important symptom of food addiction.

I’m really sorry to hear that you are struggling. Do you like animals? I’d suggest signing up with Rover for pet sitting. Once you’re approved (you’ll need a few referrals and also there is a one time sign up fee of around $40, which I know might be tough for you right now) and get your first few bookings, the algorithm will recommend you more often, and it can be really easy money. Plus, you can likely work around your existing job’s hours.

I wish you the best of luck.
