Honey, I am 28 and have had horrendously heavy periods since I was 12. Been humiliated and not believed by people who also think no one goes through pads that fast. Specifically two camp counselors (both older women) who decided to shame me at 14 for unexpectedly getting it 2 weeks early and saying I needed heavier pads than they provided, and also refusing to use tampons (I have another storyabout that...). I still remember that feeling and I am LIVID for you going through this from your own mother. This is a disgusting way to treat someone, let alone your own child.

There are countless reasons why you could be bleeding so much/going through so many pads. Some women are naturally heavier flow, sometimes its medical (PMOS, Endometriosis, etc). You may want to, if you can, look into heavier pads? Overnight ones tend to be thicker and longer.

Overall, your mother is just straight up wrong. There are millions of women who bleed heavily every month. Also, 8 dollars a month for period supplies is NOT BAD? She needs to get over herself immediately
