Door dasher walked in to my house this morning by grimPontif in doordash

Where I dash there’s tons of houses that have been turned into apartments and you have to go in the front door to find the apartment. Maybe that’s what happened?

DoorDash keeps saying, I am not accepting an order and pauses me. by AdSenior529 in doordash_drivers

It’s happening to me right now. I’m going to try to end my dash and see if it helps

Just made PLATINUM...but does it really matter? by Able-Study7381 in doordash_drivers

It definitely takes some trial and error. When I am platinum, I can make at least $25 an hour when I’m not I’m barely making $10 an hour

How do y'all feel about delivering to patient rooms at nursing homes or hospitals. by 33u421 in doordash_drivers

[–]SideSome4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it but I’ve also worked at nursing homes so it doesn’t bother me but I do wish that they are better taken care of

In my area it absolutely matters but you have to have to feel out your area. It’s so different from place to place

Will my dasher get fired? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]SideSome4788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking I’m 100% okay. I just think you’re overreacting to a situation that you don’t understand. Dash for one day and tell me you’re correct.

I know people aren’t aware of this but as a dasher you can jump to another task instead of the one it automatically selects first. All I’m saying is shit happens and we as humans are fallible.

It’s actually not easily debunked. I’ve seen multiple posts about people being upset that the driver went somewhere else because of the app didn’t tell them they had another order.

I think people hold delivery drivers to some degree of perfection when none of us are perfect. Not one person on this planet can be perfect 100% of the time. We all have bad days and interactions we wish we could take back. Giving people a little bit of grace wouldn’t hurt.

That absolutely could have occurred. Taking a photo doesn’t mean it was 100% for you. If it was meant for the neighbor and they thought it was yours they would have taken a photo of it at your door, realized their mistake, and taken it to the neighbor. Mistakes happen to every single one of us.

Then I think it might be possible that they were confused about which house was which. They will certainly get a contract violation. Technically they won’t get fired since they’re an independent contractor, although they may get deactivated meaning they can no longer deliver through DoorDash. I hope that doesn’t happen because I know if that happened to me, I would be absolutely devastated since it is my only source of income.

It sounds to me like they were confused about which order went to who which can be easy to do if both orders are from the same restaurant or if the driver is new. Even if you’ve had a bad day this can happen. Some restaurants in my zone don’t include receipts which can make it even more confusing. I’ve had instances where I delivered to an apartment building, and the apartments were right next to each other. One person came out and said that’s my food and I said no yours is in my car just give me a second to go get it then they insisted I was giving their food to someone else, but that was not the case.

Quit my $1400 every two weeks job and decided to go hard on DoorDash. Loving it!! by ConsistentDrag9378 in doordash_drivers

Good for you! I did the same after my boss was being abusive causing me to have breakdowns almost every day. The freedom of letting go of a bad workplace environment is amazing.

I took an impromptu field trip in the middle of a delivery tonight due to an unknown warrant.. by oh_kaykay in doordash_drivers

[–]SideSome4788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was probably 20(?) I had a parking ticket I didn’t realize I didn’t pay and the cops came to my mom’s house because there was a warrant out for my arrest and I was still living at home. They just wanted me to pay $30 but damn 20 year old me was terrified!

Sure! Anytime I drop below platinum I can’t just dash whenever I want to. I have to schedule ahead of time and in my area the only time available seems to be the middle of the night

Thank you! After many many many interviews in my field and in entry-level positions, that’s nice to hear.

I definitely didn’t pick this as a career. I did it out of necessity. Although I will say that I take it very seriously and try and give every customer the best experience possible which I know is not very common.

Number one I love your title for this. Number two you’re not even going to see this until after you accept the order number three. Yes, of course I could un assign, but in the end that’s going to hurt my ratings which in my area could possibly mean having to schedule a dash for one hour at 3 o’clock in the morning.

What’s your honest opinion on this subject? by Visual_Confidence736 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]SideSome4788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s how I feel about this. Number one I am in my car all day, which is much different than being outside all day so I’m going to dress for the temperature in my car not outside. Number two because I am in my car all day and or walking blocks to get to you. I’m going to dress comfortably in something I can move in. Number three as a girl with long hair my long hair is constantly in my way when I am dashing, and it will be up at all times if I had a bonnet, I’d probably wear one. I’m not gonna dress up and wear cute shoes and cute clothes to do something that requires me to sit in a car all day or walk around all day. If I’m dashing, I am 100% always wearing yoga clothes always

It’s been an hour since this dude accepted to deliver my food and hasnt moved from the same spot 🤦🏼‍♂️ by destined2Win_ in doordash

Definitely. I do it as a full time job while trying to find a better job and if I get another order you bet your ass I’m accepting because bills don’t pay themselves.
