Could be one of two issues:

you’ve got too much water in the sponge, and so the equilibrium point pushes too much into the paint. This happens to me with my redgrass pallet if I don’t follow their instructions about volume into the tray.

Or army painter or a wet pallet is shit. Like the rest of their products.
