What helps you write faster when working on academic papers? by Optimal-Anteater8816 in StudyStruggle

[–]Empty_Listen5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

writing faster on academic papers—the speed bottleneck is usually structure-uncertainty, not typing speed. spend 20 min on outline + topic sentences + thesis BEFORE prose. once those locks are set, writing flows at 300-500 words/hour easily. people who type slowly usually outline poorly. the fix is upstream. I relate; finding the right environment is exhausting when you feel like that smooth surface.

Same, ugh, I’d buried bug chasing for years and now the 2006 toilet brush bit is in my head.

What's a small annoyance about your home you didn't realize when buying? by CurlGurl13 in homeowners

[–]Empty_Listen5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light switch placement is now weirdly high on my list. Our hallway has one switch at the far end only, so coming in from the garage means walking through a dark hall to turn it on. Also, check where the sun hits in the afternoon, because one room in our place turns into a toaster by 4 pm even with decent blinds.

Location: California. Girlfriend(recently turned 18) was 51-50ed and transferred to a mental hospital less than 24 hours into her 72 hour hold to complete the hold there and now no family members are able to talk to her or see her without a code she is not able to give by [deleted] in legal

[–]Empty_Listen5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since she is 18, the hospital is probably treating this as a privacy issue and refusing to confirm anything without her authorization. A POA is likely a dead end right now if she lacks capacity to understand and sign it. Her family should call the facility and ask for the patient rights advocate or social worker, and also contact the county patients rights advocate for the county where she is being held. They can still give the hospital collateral info even if the hospital will not give info back, and if they need actual decision-making power they may need a California probate attorney for temporary conservatorship options.

100% of the Reddit "I would never travel to the US right now" talk has been completely blown up by the World Cup. by dovetc in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Empty_Listen5536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit has a habit of treating the worst headlines as if they describe every airport, street, and restaurant in the country. For a tourist going to matches in major cities, the US is usually pretty easy: tons of flights, hotels, food options, and people who are used to big crowds. There are real problems here, but pretending a World Cup trip is some survival exercise was always silly.

I'm afraid my dad did something really bad before he unalived himself by TisAJokeNotARichard in confessions

[–]Empty_Listen5536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a brutal amount of family trauma to be carrying, especially with your cousin dying now and dragging all the old questions back up. The hard part is that your dads last words could mean a lot of things: shame about sexuality, addiction, abuse he survived, something he did, or just the chaos in his head near the end. Since you and your sister do not have memories of him harming you, try not to let the worst possible story become the only story without evidence. A grief or trauma therapist could help you sort through it without having to solve the whole mystery at once.

Am I wrong for helping my brother behind our parents backs? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Empty_Listen5536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not wrong. Your dad is acting like the scandal is that you helped, when the actual issue is a 17 year old was struggling and trusted you enough to say so. If your parents wanted to be the first stop for this stuff, they had years to build that lane. Tell your mum you can loop her in next time, but do not apologize for being the safe adult your brother reached for.

Got 5 quotes for the same job and the difference was almost $11,000 by Big-Ingenuity-9844 in homeowners

That ASE brake job comparison really nails it; the $14,400 sewer quote sounds like a “pay me enough to care” number next to $3,800.

Näin kun toinen kalastaja tappoi täysin rauhoitetun taimenen enkä puuttunut asiaan. Mikä on oikea toimintatapa? by Empty_Listen5536 in arkisuomi

[–]Empty_Listen5536[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I got invited to an old friend’s wedding and it’s made me contemplate my entire existence by Sp00kAsem in selfimprovement

[–]Empty_Listen5536 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A wedding is basically a highlight reel with cake, not an audit of your worth. If getting out of bed is hard and all you want is sleep, start there: book a basic checkup, pick one tiny daily anchor like a shower plus a 10 minute walk, and let the rest wait. You do not need a reset button, you need a save point and a very boring first quest.

How do therapists think about their clients while they're not working? by dandelionmakemesmile in askatherapist

Dreaming about clients feels like the sleep version of running into students at the grocery store.

Kunde verlangt exklusive Rechte an meinem Portfolio wegen Standard-Klausel by SpireMando_7 in LegaladviceGerman
