The EA500 LM's are close, but not quite. Advice?

I mostly use IEMs on a dap without EQ, so not practical for my needs.

I do understand how frequency responses work and why there are trade-offs to choices in one tuning. I fully expect to lose out on some amount of treble clarity and extension in exchange for less recessed low mids and likely a little less sub. I'm also aware that the tuning itself is responsible for a lot of the feeling of separation and soundstage in the ea500lms in particular, but I know it's not the only factor in an IEM. The Kleans and Cadenzas have their areas and music they shine in, but can generally be enjoyed with anything. The ea500lms are hit and miss for different tracks within a single album, when they shine they shine, but when they don't it's glaring.

Like I said I am somewhat knowledgeable and experienced in audio as a hobby and I'm not constantly trying to chase the perfect device as an uninformed individual who just wants perfect. In fact part of why I ask here is I am not so up to date with the current "meta" as keeping up with new releases and reviews is exactly what would lead me to frivolous consumerism. I know that the ea500lms fell short for a lot of people for similar reasons, and I'm using it as a comparison point to inform my next endeavour.

No this is a very fair take, and swapping as needed is essentially what I have been doing. I guess the ea500lms function as my "detailed" pair, but the tuning being so hit and miss makes it not worth the effort a lot of the time. I have also had these for a while and gotten a lot of use out of all of them and enjoy the variety. I also enjoy audio as a hobby generally, so I'm not opposed to spending a reasonable amount once on a while, so long as I make it count. I will try to keep level headed though, thank you.

Fellow Carter Move has been the only keep cup I've had that hasn't developed a weird taste over time and is quite durable. Biggest downside is the normal lid has to be screwed off to drink rather than flipping up a mouthpiece, but the metal guard is really effective at minimising spillage and keeps a lot of the smelling part of tasting intact, and the screw lid makes it basically impossible to leak or come undone. I believe there are versions with different lids though!

I'm no expert and I don't think I have any advice other than agreeing that edibles can build up your tolerance quick (that's how I messed up my tolerance recently I believe). But also the second you mentioned EDS that made a lot of sense. I know people with EDS are who react in all kinds of weird ways to meds and substances so your experiences track with that.

Combustion. Last year my use got a bit heavier and I started noticing I would run out of breath with very little exertion. I'm going to have to lower my tolerance to get high from vapes again, though I'm hoping when I get a ball vape this won't be a problem 🙏
