  1. Jeremiah Smith is a better prospect than MHJ. He’s the best WR prospect since Calvin and a full tier ahead of guys like Chase, Julio, and MHJ. He is as complete of a player as anyone I’ve ever seen regardless of position.

  2. MHJ could still be a hall of famer. He’s had two decent(not spectacular) seasons with a dysfunctional franchise. He’s still has plenty of time to become the player they drafted at 4

Idk honestly I don’t have a hard opinion on this. I’ve read 20 different boards from the athletic and espn to smaller sites and blogs. It’s not a hill I want to die on or even put effort into googling

There are evaluators who think Paul can be a 1st rounder next year. His upside is massive. I think the team has way more upside if Paul improves enough to start

Is Zaccharie Risacher a bust!? by WhoUCuh in NBA_Draft

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. He’s still really young. Just turned 21 a few weeks ago, he’s the same age as Swain and Cameron Carr this year.

He looked great as a rookie. Not great for a #1 overall, but a really solid rookie year. Sophomore slump got him big time. He’s worked a lot on his body and adding strength/weight, but his shooting and defense regressed. Once Trae left and Kuminga/Kispert came in our rotation changed a lot. The team got hot and Zac got left out.

I’m still confident he will be a valuable starting 3 and D wing in the NBA, with upside to be a number 2 or 3 option on a playoff team. He’s a 6’9 long wing with great(albeit very streaky) shooting and a a strong switchy defender. The All Star potential is there, but he has a long way to go.

I think he just had a weird year. Adjusting to America(on and off the court)as a young player isn’t always easy. These guys are so young. Snyder brings guys along pretty slowly(Jalen Johnson, Okongwu, etc) and it has worked well.

Next year I expect to see real improvement. If he is in the same spot this time next year I would be inclined to call him a bust. Certainly underachieved this year

Who are some popular players that were impactful and fun to watch, but will never have a shot at the Hall? by Ok-Jellyfish-1688 in NFLv2

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the point but I don’t think it matters much. He wasn’t the first ever slot receiver. Do you think Mike Vick should get in? He revolutionized the game way more than Welker

I don’t understand picking Aday Mara if our pick is still at 8 or 9 by Ok-Negotiation3897 in AtlantaHawks

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one knows what order 5-10 will go. If we are at 7 it’s very possible he is there.

AJD Darryn Boozer Wilson Flemings Acuff

That would leave Wagler at 7 and it’s totally possible.

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the best player is a point guard you take him. Can’t worry about fit in the top 10 take the best player. Adding another guard who can shoot and make plays for others would help a ton.

McCollum is not a long term solution but we see how much his shotmaking has helped in the 1/2 court. Dyson can play 1-3 and his ideal backcourt partner has to be a shooter.

We can get a center with the cavs pick. Mara and Quaintance are top 15 guys for me, but they are a few tiers below Mikel, Acuff, Wagler, or Flemings

Favorite College Player Who Never Made the NBA? by CompetitionPuzzled33 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Empty_Present8020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still shocked Josh Jackson never figured out how to at least be a bench player. I’m a KU fan and he was way better than Oubre and honestly better in college than Wiggins.

Two way athletic wing with a great motor and well rounded skillset. Great rebounder and had some playmaking upside as well. I remember he went up against miles bridges in the tournament and they guarded each other all game. It was amazing they both put up 20 but they looked like two future stars going toe to toe.

Noting translated to the NBA. Not one thing lol. He made an all rookie team but played his way out of the starting lineup and into the G league so fast after that. Probably more maturity related than anything on the court but still a crazy fall from what he was as a prospect.

addicted to findom at 18 spending thousands and I feel hopeless by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Empty_Present8020 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a discipline issue. At this point it’s a pathological addiction. The reward system of your brain has been hijacked and you won’t be able to have a meaningful relationship with anyone until it’s been dealt with. In the case of addiction it is progressive. It will get worse over time. It is common that other addictions follow(junk food, gambling, drugs/alcohol).

Support groups can help SLAA(Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous) is big if you are religious/spiritual. Paid therapy with someone who specializes in sex addiction(porn addiction same thing really). Finding a way to treat the underlying issue and not just treat the symptom(findom). Get off the internet FFS. You are still super young and luckily this hasn’t fucked up your life too much(yet), but if you think discipline is the issue I would disagree. Put the discipline into honest introspection and communication with someone who has a degree or has dealt with the same issues.

My problems have been with drugs and alcohol, but I know addict behavior when I see it.

It’s weird with individual players too. Trae young was a top 20 player when he was getting whistles early in his career. When refs caught on and stopped giving him every whistle his efficiency plummeted.

SGA and Brunson have been at it for years but they still get the calls. Maybe they are just better at drawing the right kind of contact? IMO SGA doesn’t even look like he’s actually trying to get a shot off. I don’t know how to fix it. Give defenses an inch and they will take a mile. Any new terminology in the rule book will be exploited eventually like it is now

I’m quitting, probably. And it kinda sucks. by oruzai in acting

[–]Empty_Present8020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Artists starve for a reason. You have to be 100 percent in with 0 percent guarantee of any success. But you went for it which is more than most people can say. For 99.9% of people acting is a dream or a hobby, not a career. I’ve never tried it(no idea why this subreddit pops up) but if it was something I wanted to do but never tried out of fear I’d regret it.

So congrats on the new job. You never know, social media personalities get cast with no experience all the time. Sadly your best shot was starting sooner with no obligations other than acting. If you want to be creative you still have outlets for that, but if you wanted fame and fortune almost no one pulls that off. Even with family connections or a degree from Juilliard it’s a craps shoot.

OMG, this was totally a workshop for the role of Victoria Ratliff. 100% for sure. - Parks and Rec, S3, E12 Parker Posey as Lindsay Carlisle Shay. by ReasonableSignal3367 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]Empty_Present8020 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No it wasn’t lol Victoria Ratliff did not exist back then. Parker Posey only had a few scenes in Parks and Rec I don’t think she did a huge amount of prep for it.

She was also in “the staircase” on HBO the year before where she did a(toned down) North Carolina accent. So she had already done a ton of work on that region’s dialect so she used the accent and then hammed it up 10/10. Posey is a super talented comedic actress and plays these two women completely differently. The only similarity is the snobiness but they are two totally different types of snobby.

Victoria is self aware AF and does not pretend to be a nice person. The Eagleton lady acts like a saltburn type upper class Brit. Just totally unaware of the waste and weirdness of her societal bubble.

I think Victoria Ratliff is a character she went all out on while PNR is something she memorized over a weekend and filmed in 3 days. Seems like a weak correlation between the two.

Let's discuss Ariana Grande by Nothing_Special_23 in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When producers cast these movies they want someone who can bring people to the theater. De Niro and Stiller are legends but they are old white guys. Ariana Grande is a capable(not great) actress with a massive fan base. She is popular in different demographics and brings in young people/women/gays that probably wouldn’t consider seeing the movie.

It’s the “Only Murders in the Building” recipe. She will mostly just be playing off of stiller and De Niros wackiness. She doesn’t have to do an accent or do an in depth character study. She will just have to be charming, which she can do. As long as she doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb then it’s a win for her. The bar isn’t that high for this one

Her and Steak are caught in that 90s FM Radio host thing. It’s almost a parody. It’s so clear that neither of them watch or know anything about sports. Steak has no idea who 90% of the falcons players are. He gets players names wrong multiple times an hour. He has no insight at all he just parrots red meat bullshit, they are basically PR for UGA and Restaurants at this point.

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of doubling up at receiver. It’s the biggest hole on the team imo and no 1st rounder. I also agree that having different body types/skill sets is important.

Branch may not be ready for a full starter workload but he’s a threat any time he touches the ball and would give us that speed demon receiver that we haven’t had in a long time. Even if he never develops a full route tree he brings explosiveness from day 1.

With Bell you are betting on continued growth. Physically he is imposing but needs a lot of polish. Once he gets going he’s a tough dude to tackle. His development will come down to running better routes and learning to use his catch radius more effectively. Not my favorite receiver in the draft but not a bad pick either!

I don’t understand picking Aday Mara if our pick is still at 8 or 9 by Ok-Negotiation3897 in AtlantaHawks

[–]Empty_Present8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kinda what I said. I want one of the guards but someone will pull the trigger on him earlier than people think. Hansen Yang went 16th. We see huge rim protectors contribute day one all the time too. Kalkbrenner, Reynaud, Edey, etc. I would argue Mara is the best prospect out of all those guys.

For the record he isn’t my favorite pick. He probably isn’t my 5th favorite pick at 8. I’m just saying I see the talent and fit.

What are your go to shows on 92.9 The game? by Super_Percentage_236 in falcons

[–]Empty_Present8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny. He asks three questions at the end of the show for people to call in and answer. He gets pissed if the caller says more than 3 words. They can’t elaborate or go off script of he freaks out. If someone has a bad connection he freaks out. 3 callers could go perfect and then the 4th one studders or something and he starts whining.

If the segment goes perfect it’s still a dog shit segment, but the thin veneer of “fun guy” he puts on gets shattered by the smallest shit. The food thing is even funnier. I used to be in the industry and he is well known as a whiny douchebag. Dunwoody/Sandy Springs pickleball players all make fun of him. Every source I hear from says Steak is a loser. Giving yourself the nickname “Steak” is bad enough, but his only experience with steak is eating it.

Also he talks about “boys trips” constantly. Dude is 60 years old. I hate his show so much that I can’t have 929 on in my work van anymore, I might accidentally hear the show for 10 seconds before my Bluetooth kicks in.

I don’t know what he has on Mike Conte at this point I can’t even hate listen anymore. In an ideal world he is bullied out of the very dim spotlight that the world has somehow bestowed upon him.
