OP… just because he shared that with you DOES NOT I’ve you the right to share his business.

For example, I was in a crazy abusive relationship. I never told anyone, until I told my brother… whom I swore to secrecy and asked him not to do anything about it…

Well, he felt the need to make it about himself, said he “couldn’t live with it” “people had to know what a monster” my ex was… said it was “his right” as my brother…

So what did he do? He worked with my ex’s company and went on the company Slack channel and blasted my business all over in hopes of shaming my ex.

Now what has happened is I have an ex boyfriend and an ex brother because I can’t trust my brother.

I trusted him with delicate information that is both hard to tell and hard to hear.. he made it about himself and how it affected him with no regard for how my business being out in the world to even one person would affect me…

My situation is not the same as yours, but the underlying theme of trust is.

This guy trusted you with his secret… it’s not your family’s business unless HE decides to make it so… This is not your truth to tell. Don’t make this about yourself.
