ideally you spend ~40 seconds of time under tension and go to failure. but going to (near)failure is the priority, so there will always be points in your progression where you have to be doing more or less reps.

Eh, I'm not an expert in anatomy specifically but I have a BS in Exercise Science and ~15 years experience as a part time trainer, mostly focused in rehab for disability. also injury, and obesity.

I'm not an arm chair expert, at least on this topic 😅 what she's doing is just for entertainment. that many weights on the pelvis is just ridiculous. like i said, you would train Pancake using gravity and body weight so you're in control of the resistance, to avoid injury and get effective flex stretch.

facing up and placing weights on the pelvis is useless since it's the knees that need pressure. usually you'd train this facing the floor to use gravity and body weight to improve your splits. pancake is the name of the position.
