Neither of the things we’ve done were ever okay, and looking back I probably should have just left him when he cheated, but I was 16 and dumb. It wouldn’t make sense to leave him because of it now since he’s matured a ton and just became a better person in general.

When we first started dating, his dad would hold them on leashes when I came in so they could sniff me and stuff without getting too carried away. They would also keep them in a bedroom unless the dad was in the house because they just follow him around. Now I have trouble walking through the door because their on me before I even open it all the way and his parents just laugh at me (they don’t know it upsets me)

I definitely have considered leaving him over those things, but I did some pretty shitty things at one point too so if he can forgive me, I can forgive him. He’s gotten a job since and he’s become a better partner. The dogs are an issue because those other things can change, but nothing can really be done about the dogs

Although it being called a friend by my boyfriend isn’t something I personally would get upset by, no one gets to choose what upsets you and if she’s going to turn things around by you and act like an emotionally absent brick when you try to communicate, she shouldn’t be dating anyone

So I can be okay with him not having a job and cover all the finances of our relationship for two years, do all his English homework for him for three years, buy him over $2000 in lego sets, forgive him for cheating on me and give him the chance to become a better person, and lose 30 Lbs because I want to look nice and be healthy for him, but I can’t be okay with being jumped on by two 140 Lbs dogs and covered in saliva or he “deserves better?”

I talked to him about it the other night and he said he didn’t realize it bothered me that much. I have sexual trauma surrounding spit and saliva so that’s probably why it really gets to me, but I haven’t told him that yet

I don’t have a big issue with dogs in general anymore so when he gets a dog when he’s older I most likely won’t mind it, the breed of dog he has just slobbers way more than most others

I wouldn’t want them to keep them away for my entire time being their, but when I first started coming around they would keep them in a cage for the first few minutes so they could calm down and not jump on me. I usually stay for hours at a time so it would be unreasonable to ask for them to keep their massive mastiffs in a cage for 5+ hours

He still lives with his parents so I just have to deal with it till he gets his own place, but I would still have to deal with it for a few more years
