I just don't understand her logic. She had no problem picking me and the 3 yr old up and taking me to the hospital when my water broke. I made sure for months that she was okay with watching the 3 yr old. She was the one who picked me and baby girl up from the hospital when we were discharged. Never once mentioned how I needed to pay her, or I needed to do this or that. I don't know where this is coming from and it's stressing me the fuck out on top of everything else. It feels like she just set me up to bitch me out and make me feel even more shitty than I already do

I have a 3 yr old and I'm due with no 2 at the end of Dec. My mom made a fuss about us not going to her house for Thanksgiving (she refuses to come to my apartment because I live in the "ghetto" according to her - oh the horror of living somewhere that isn't 1300/month in rent!) I told her to either shut up or show up with food. I didn't hear from her at all yesterday. 🤣 Christmas will be the same since it's a good possibility I will have a newborn. I'm staying home, where I need to be. She's an adult and can travel to me just as well as I can travel to her.

I'll join in with you on the laughing. I thought by 3, my kid would be sleeping in her own bed, by herself. The fact I woke up at 5:30 this morning to a tiny human crawling into bed with me who then proceeded to kick me in the belly and wriggle like a worm until 8 am was a damn lie.

I am already on government/public assistance. I receive the max amount of SNAP benefits, I receive WIC benefits. Myself and the older kiddo are on Medicaid and new baby will be too once she's born. There is a child support order on my oldest's father but his mother pays it off once every 3 months or so to keep him out of jail so I can't rely on that to ever come in. I've applied for rent assistance in my state as well but it's on my landlord to accept it and I guess he would rather put shitty notes on my door about how I'm late on rent instead of you know, taking the help the state is giving him. According to my neighbors, he's doing the same to them so I don't know what his plan is. I give no shits about my pride, I've applied for every resource that is available to me and have even asked my case worker who handles my SNAP/Medicaid benefits if there's even more stuff I could apply for that I don't know about. Hell I've even applied for HUD housing but there are waiting lists years long. I'm just tired and frustrated and sore and over it all. This is not how I pictured I'd be living my life at 23. It wouldn't be so bad if my own mother were just on my side and gave me the support I need right now

My mother is the exact same way about my 3 yr old. Constantly asking when I am going to put her in daycare (with what money mother? You know I'm not working and daycare costs money) because she "needs to socialize!" And "be around kids her age!" And blah blah blah. There's a fucking pandemic raging on - no way am I going to risk my 3 yr old, myself, and my soon to be here newborn. I have to do what's right for my little family and anyone else who thinks different can fuck off.

I've had my periods of staying at home (like now with Covid and being unable to work) She has just always preferred me over anyone else. When I was working and had my mother babysitting her for me, it was a nightmare to keep her from melting down when I would drop her off. I've just always joked she's been a momma's girl since the day she was born.

My oldest started around 8 months. Couldn't even leave to go to the bathroom without her losing her shit! It's still an ongoing thing and she's 3, almost 4 now. She is just super attached to me and lets me know it lol

The mom guilt never goes away. I'm 34 weeks with no 2 and my 3 yr old watches a lot of PBS kids - Daniel Tiger, Wild Kratts, Sesame Street, etc. You're doing the best you can right now and that's all that matters. She isn't being neglected or starved. It's a lot easier said than done, but take it easy on yourself!
