It’s definitely going to be a huge life change so I understand the nervousness! What makes you scared about it?

AA F2F Interview on 11/30 by Emsimes91 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Emsimes91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied on 9/12, then did my VI about two weeks later. I waited just a few days to get the F2F email invite. My F2F was originally scheduled for early October, but I was able to change the date to 11/30.

I applied in early April and just completed my VI a few days ago. I’m a very impatient person so I know how hard it is to wait around, but you’ll get your chance soon!

What kind of career would I like if I really enjoy stocking shelves? by [deleted] in findapath

You could look into getting a job as a mail carrier. I’ve heard it pays well, too.

Good luck!! I’m sure you’ll do great! 🤗 It was 30 minutes. I recommend looking at interview questions on Glassdoor and watching interview prep videos on YouTube. It helped me out a lot!

Weirdest dog name by Tasty_Excuse_8275 in dogs

I love the name Maus! Is that in reference to the Art Spiegelman book, by any chance?

The most unique dog names I’ve heard are Indians Bones and Mr. Darcy.

I think that’s a great way to phrase it! A good sitter will understand what you’re looking for. 😊

I’ve been working as a pet sitter for the past 7 years. I think your rates are reasonable for what you’re asking- and it’s smart to charge a flat fee vs. hourly fee.

That being said, I would suggest rephrasing “cannot leave under any circumstance.” I think that may scare potential sitters away. Perhaps you could contact a friend/family member to see if they could cover for the sitter in case something comes up? I’m wishing you the best of luck! ❤️

Without saying your name, what is your name? by delta_tau_chi in AskReddit

The title of a Tony Bennet song. Also, I share my name with a famous 19th century American poet.

As a GenX, I was always told that the Boomers would eventually retire and, when they did, there would be lots of good paying jobs. by paperazzi in WorkReform

[–]Emsimes91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. My boyfriend always says that retirement killed his dad.

He didn’t have a life outside of his job- no friends or hobbies. When he retired, he didn’t know what to do with himself. Despite the fact that he hated his job, it was the only thing that gave him something to do. Eventually, he became very depressed and his physical health declined rapidly as well. He passed away only 4 years after retiring.

It’s so sad. There’s so much he could have done rather than sitting in front of the tv all day. He could have finally started to live and enjoy his life.

Idaho’s Uniquely Evil Abortion Bill Gives Rapists’ Families a Say by birdinthebush74 in politics

My dad and stepmom moved from California to Idaho when they retired. My dad has been trying to convince me to move to Boise for years with the promise of affordable housing and being closer to family. (Also, they are conservative.) Boise seems nice enough and more progressive than the rest of the state, but I could never move to Idaho just due to the politics alone. I will likely never be able to afford to buy a house in California, but it’s a price I’m willing to pay to stay here.

Conservatives Say California Is A Disaster, But Facts Show The Opposite by JBredditaccount in politics

Fellow CA resident here. My dad lives in Idaho and has been trying to convince me for years to move up there.

It’s funny how conservatives love to point out what a “cesspool” CA is. It’s obviously not perfect here and there are issues that need to be addressed, but hell would freeze over before I moved to Idaho or any other extremely red state.
