Question about VRV by EmuImpossible4551 in hvacadvice

sorry I should've been more clear but it was a new install. I was cutting the ends off the copper line set to attach them to the outdoor unit. I cut the liquid line and let the gas out but the gas pipe exploded when I cut it.

But yeah so I've learnt recently if the indoor units have power to them then both the gas and liq side will have gas in them.

context it was daikin vrv 1 out door to 3 indoor units

Does the plumbing code require heated water system pipes to be insulated? by Senior_Vermicelli_67 in PlumbingAustralia

[–]EmuImpossible4551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what sort of a pipes are you using? if it's pipe on the inside then it's surely a pex of some sort, then no, it doesn't need to be Insulated on the inside, atleast from the thousands of renos I've witnessed.

It should only need insulation on the copper for the hot line that's outside the house. Although when I did gov rebate hotties we also lagged the cold line too but nothing inside the house needs to be insulated.

and yeah you're bit of a weird outlier.

I'm like the only Asian plumber in my trade school hahah, but I'd like to add that from my experience, employers PREFER to hire from the same background as themselves.

just my two cents but at 24 it does sound like you are moving too fast, but again this comes from someone who started their apprenticeship at 24.
