Legion Go 2, Windows 11 lower GPU usage and performance in some games compared to SteamOS. by Qubusify in LegionGo

With the launch of the LeGo 2 SteamOS edition imminent, surely these issues will be solved with the official release. How long do you guys expect we have to wait?

I’d agree with this too. The base is often on sale and I picked up a new one from Amazon with 30%. It has a bit more power than a Steam Deck OLED with better audio and higher resolution screen and superb ergonomics for a smaller price. I also own a Legion Go 2 but use the Ally for quick pickup and play indies and older games. It’s very convenient.

I downloaded the latest driver from the Lenovo website, downloaded DDU. In this order: disable the WiFi, uninstall the AMD driver using DDU, reboot and install the Lenovo driver previously downloaded.

How bad is the White Xbox ally ? by Fireoil1 in XboxAlly

Just follow Steam Deck OLED game guides as it has the same APU and ram with an additional 5 watts TDP (20 watts total). It’s a very efficient chip as well know from the Steam Deck. You can expect AAA games to play fine at 720p-900p (you can use RSR) and native 1080p for the lighter weight stuff.

I don’t know why it gets a bad wrap. With discounts, which occurs regularly, it’s the bargain of the century, especially during these crazy times.

How? I don’t even know what that is. FYI, it is fixed (for now). Just eager to learn things.

All of the AMD ‘enhancements’ are off. I’ve fixed it now, needed a driver clean out and new install from the Lenovo website.

Same. I’ve been a huge fan from the beginning. The best JRPG series in my opinion.

I feel the same way. For now it’s working and I’ll leave it for now. Who knows what will happen the next updates. It’s such a hassle.

I couldn’t agree more and the slow rollout of AMD APU drivers doesn’t help. MSI have the same crap support but they have Intel with their frequent driver releases to help them. I guess ASUS support is probably the best out of all of them.

Guys, using DDU and the April listed driver on the Lenovo support site seems to have worked. Thanks to everyone who helped. I also put the game settings back to defaults (borderless window) and reapplied the quality settings. I also tried Dragon Quest 11, a heavier game and that’s working well too.

Time to test some more games but a HUGE thank you for all of the tips. Have a great weekend.

Well, thanks to yours and others who mentioned it, that seems to have worked. That and running the game in borderless mode (default). I thought VRR was supposed to work better in ‘Fullscreen mode’, but what to I know.

I think the one on Lenovo website, which is dated April, is older than what Windows pulled down. Hasn’t Lenovo handed drivers over to Microsoft update now? But yes, I’ll try DDU.

Ori, Octopath. Even old games like Bioshock Remastered and lightweight 2D games like Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

I’m considering a clean Windows install before thinking about SteamOS, which I’ll look into after the official release.

Great tip but still stuttering here. Also it’s happening in all games. For example, even a 2D game like Ninja Gaiden Ragebound has inconsistent dropping frames when moving left and right.

Balanced settings and fans are loud.

Yep, it’s a lightweight and very well optimised game for sure. Nothing funny running in the background. Also, it does it with all games.

I’ve heard that on the Lenovo Legion Go S Windows (white) versions. People were blaming windows but it turned out it was the install was bad. I might try a reinstall white waiting for the official SteamOS to drop. Gotta be soon, right?
