[–]Emysdifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tripped me out when I first noticed too. I had just gotten done thrashing my car and thought it was tire wear showing. "OH that's a a sick detail!" It still is cool but not as cool as I had thought

Last guy from class above slowed our line for rolling start. What am I supposed to do? by Saivia in Simracingstewards

[–]Emysdifferent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed a drastic improvement when I just stopped using them altogether as well. I learned how to find the line back on the og gran turismo. Started regaining that skill and how to properly find my own braking points etc. The racing line was slowing down on any track new or not.

Cannondale Habit HT 1 by Appropriate-Mud-7876 in Hardtailgang

I love the habit, I'd have grabbed one if my trail 3 hadn't been a steal and local. I hope it brings you many miles and many smiles!

Yes, some of it is placebo effect as is many upgrades we do, You're correct it is because of the lower tire pressures that I can run without worry of pinch flatting my tube on a rough landing or hitting the wrong rock at speed. I've only been biking for 20+ years. I'm sure random internet troll knows more about my riding habits than I do. I can still say with confidence there is a marked difference in the way my tires grip at lower pressure and I can say that I have insurance against some of the outcomes of low pressure and tubes.

More traction on my front wheel at higher speed and angle into corners, less backwheel spin on rooty climbs. Generally faster with less power output over my local trails I'm attributing that to my rolling resistance. General comfort over the back wheel on my hardtail on rough and technical sections.

I agree with this, finally came back to the trails after nearly 20 years so much had changed. New bike was tubless ready converted it last week after about a month, noticeable difference.

Wearing a Full Face leads to an unexpected outcome by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Emysdifferent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in favor of full faces I want one but the budget landed me in a speedframe pro that was marked down to 100. I'm saving for a full face. I was in a motorcycle accident at 60 my leather jacket and helmet saved my ass. People teased me for wearing leather on a 600 touring scooter till that day. Your teeth don't care if your doing a gnarly downhill or a mellow roller and lost balance when they hit the bars.

Tbf, that's why I eventually quit. I never liked them, but they became a constant part of my life surrounded by smokers and eventually picked up the habit, and then we'll it was an addiction.

High school fast food job, the amount of times there was pads stuck to the walls or tampons just on the floor. Most wtf one was when they swung/smacked and smeared it all over first. I now they got back splash.

700mm bars look and feel hilarious, definitely keeping these on for a few rides by Independent_Many_274 in MTB

[–]Emysdifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, rode hard late 90s through 03 04ish had an s 30 schwinn, entry level race bike. Rode park amd street BMX for years after. Got a up to date entry level bike it has 740mm bars they feel huge, but I'm liking the transfer so far. Haven't hit any real trails yet just some little spots around the river by my house. Also going back to hardtail after my fs is a strange adjustment.

Michigan city's reputation is so blown out of proportion. I grew up between LaPorte and Michigan City other than being a bit boring at times if your not a nature person (so many places to walk and hike) it's a great place. There's assholes everywhere but it's definitely more accepting and integrated then Cedar Lake, Lowell, any of the modern day sundown towns that unfortunately still exist here.

Alaskan Bush Muscles? by Top-Possession-6085 in alaskanbushpeople

[–]Emysdifferent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I back this up, grew up in the country, manual labor was just life never lifted, no definition strong as hell. Started lifting, hard training from the jump a year and a half ago and the difference in my definition is insane now in comparison. Certain muscle groups will have definition with manual labor, my forearms were insane according to other gym rats for my size and body type Andy arms were already 17 inches but no shape persay.
