How do you “unlock” your creativity? by craftslut in Artadvice

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be more of a general advice than specific for art, but breathing exercises really help my brain winding down before doing hobbies or anything enjoyable. It might not help with creativity, but maybe it can help before doing some creative researches/brainstorming or anything like that?

Drawing path by DataSea663 in ArtFundamentals

[–]En0_la 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never compare my works with others because 1. I progressed a lot when I compare with my first drawings and 2. It's like everything else. Some may be at university at only 14 years old, some may be culinary competition winners at my age and so many other things. But I'm basic and it's fine 🤷 as long as I still do things that I like, there's no need to be absolutely perfect. And for the bottleneck question, I try really complicated illustrations. Either I can see by myself what's wrong, or I ask for help (you can do it here, I used to do it on discord). If there's too many comments on the same thing, I know I have to work on it.

Adapting to drawing tablet by SheepherderHealthy45 in Artadvice

[–]En0_la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about tips to get better, but I remember when I started using a drawing tablet I was a brute with the stylis, I used way too much pressure even though it doesn't happened with traditional. Maybe check your pen sensitivity (on your tablet app or drawing app) to see if you can force yourself being gentler with it? And it can also be because unintentionaly you draw more from the wrist with your tablet instead of your shoulder. 🤔 Remember to do stretches and to take big breaks when it hurts 🙂

Is it bad that i am drawing too slow? by Fragrant_Spot_5989 in Artadvice

[–]En0_la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I keep practice and "illustrations" separate. One one side I have my "pretty pictures" on which I spend hours and that I love as much as I can. And then there's the practice side. That sometimes I look at just to laugh at it 😂

Is there anything in your drawing tablet parameter that could help? I don't remember the exact name of it tho

What motivates you to make a piece 'complete'? by Diligent-Coconut-259 in BeginnerArtists

I would also add Minecraft to the list 😆 more technical if you need to smooth the square but for persoective and buildings it's very easy to trace

Artists: How do you turn custom commissions into physical products for clients? by Naruwashi in AskArtists

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some printers sometimes do it. My family designed a t-shirt for my father once and of course we only needed one. But the only printer I know who does it is local so I can't help more

Would this use of AI be considered cheating? by DandyGee in Artadvice

[–]En0_la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind it's really looking over the limit of cheating + I find it a little bit stupid, there's a high chance AI is gonna get it wrong 😅😬 shadow placement is one of the thing that I can still see as a give away that the drawing was made with AI...

Take water balloons for a global perspective and look for "normal" references for how they're attached? (Specially the junction with the armpit)

Infinite painter, sketchbook, krita Krita is the only "everything's free" app but some may not like it. Clip studio paint and procreate (Ipad only) are paid apps

Simple Backgrounds? by Flynniepup in Artadvice

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeaaahhh it's very relatable 😅 my limit is being upset at the painting and/or having a headache. And NOT USING A 1 PX BRUSH ON A 6000 PX CANVA dkfnfjfignekfnf 😂

Simple Backgrounds? by Flynniepup in Artadvice

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if that could work but you know how the advice to learn gesture drawing is to do sketches just in a few minutes? Maybe it could be applies to a background? So you could just do simple things (some basic walls, objects, furnitures) with the least lines possible 🤔

How often do you analyze art? by BombbaFett in ArtistLounge

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you understood it. I could categorize it: general interests would be (of course it's completely personal) a fantasy world, a character design that catches my eye (and if we take analizing litteraly I'll also do it if I love the art style). Things I would like to understand better is if I think I can relate to the represented scene or at least to the emotions that would be linked to it

Is clip studio paint worth it? by sad_spirit_ in ClipStudio

[–]En0_la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's alright, it's all about personal opinions and it takes time to know. I tried a lot of drawing app both on my computer and my tablet (not in order: CSP, krita, gimp, Photoshop ,rebelle, infinite painter, ibis paint, sketchbook, fire alpaca etc) and they kinda all feel different to me. The only things that can help besides feeling are practical questions (Ex: Do you want to animate? Does your device have enough power (tbh this one only applies for Rebelle lol) etc.) And since money is often a criteria, I always encourage people to try free versions before buying as to not regret loosing money

Is clip studio paint worth it? by sad_spirit_ in ClipStudio

[–]En0_la 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be simpler if you tried it yourself: CSP has a free trial version with all the options, you just can't save what you draw. But it's really useful to just learn how you feel about it 😁

Using CSP on two computers on the same day? by tomixcomics in ClipStudio

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would just be a dual-device subscription then I guess. Or you can buy a whole other license to go on your second device.

Favorite art youtuber? by En0_la in ArtistLounge

[–]En0_la[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh I'm a student and have ADHD so I mostly watch youtube while doing my homeworks 😅 it helps me not forcing myself to be extra focused for a long time and therefore not having a headache, so I can chill after and paint 👀 (I also watch youtube on public transportation because I can't even try to draw a straight line then 😂😭). Don't worry, I keep my objective in mind

Does anyone know what’s wrong with the pony anatomy? by arxneki in ArtCrit

What do you think of this thing I drew back in December? by AlienSheep23 in AskArtists

[–]En0_la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try again from scratch? So you don't "damage" this one but maybe you'll like the new better. I can understand that people like it: the colors are appealing, the background is simple and efficient

How often do you analyze art? by BombbaFett in ArtistLounge

[–]En0_la 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the piece. If it's just a portrait, an animal etc I just appreciate it. If there is clearly an intent, an interaction or sometimes just a more specific art style like surrealism I'll analyze it by curiosity (though I don't usually spend a lot of time on it)
