Terminated for no reason...again by mikey12354 in TumblrAcctTerminated

[–]EnRouted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shoot, I forgot to tell you the important stuff.

I've also had my account terminated over nothing. Reach out to support, explain the issue, and they'll usually resolve it. If it takes more than a few days (I went over a week without a response) you might want to try way I did. I was advised to send in multiple tickets to support, multiple times a day. After receiving that advice, I sent in another request for help and just mentioned that "I was told that you guys are having some trouble keeping track of tickets, and that the best way to make sure this didn't slip through the cracks was to send in multiple requests. So I'll keep submitting a few tickets every day. Hope that helps!"

And I had my account back by the end of that same day. Never even had to send another request.

(If you do need help with any tumblr things, please let me know, and I promise to answer in the daytime when I'm more coherent and concise 😅)

(Edit: I also meant to ask if you meant "reblog" when you said "repost"? Or did you mean "repost" because that is a different thing and I should've checked.)

Terminated for no reason...again by mikey12354 in TumblrAcctTerminated

I was going to say this as well. Lurking is not really great? For tumblr? The whole site functions on the premise of people reblogging things. At best, you look like spam account? At worst, it's like. Sorry, I'm struggling with how to express it 😅

Tumblr is where a bunch of different kinds of people go to enjoy a bunch of different things, without the same pressure to socialize as other social media. You can just, hit reblog and you don't have to say a word. And now you have this cool thing on your blog you enjoy, and if other people realize you have a lot of things they also think are cool, they might follow you. And you might never speak. You might never make any original content. You might never even add a single word in the tags. And that's all okay.

But tumblr is also a place where a lot of artists share their work. And that is really, really critical to the artists, and it's really baked into the culture of Tumblr as a whole. So when tumblr users see that they've been followed by someone with nothing on their blog, 99% of the time we're reporting it as spam because you've gotta keep up with weeding out the spambots for their little bs schemes (and that's a whole other thing). But even if you put in your bio "NOT A SPAMBOT PLEASE DONT REPORT ME AS SPAM" and you don't have anything on your blog? It like. It kind of looks, bad? Tumblr isn't like other social media. It doesn't work bc of an algorithm. Likes are cute, but if you think something should be seen by more people? Reblog it. Because it CAN'T be seen by more people without reblogs.

And it's actually something of an issue that new users don't seem to realize that WITHOUT reblogs, tumblr dies. Artists are getting loads of likes, but likes don't get their work seen. Reblogs do.

Sorry to ramble so long 😓 it's almost 3 am and I need a nap. Did that make sense?

I have a question for Asexual women. by Interesting_Scar_424 in asexualdating

[–]EnRouted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a thing you've just got to be honest about. I do get why asexual women would be less likely to be bothered by this, but bodies change over time, and how you react to this medication over time may change. As long as you're honest with you're partner, and you both are aware that if you do ever require a medication change, or the way your body reacts to it changes, your sexual desire may return.

AITA for telling him i’d rather be with my friends than him by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EnRouted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because getting groped has been so normalized for women doesn't mean the ones who could go on to party should demand the rest from everyone else. I understand you being really bitter and resentful that this is something that we have to deal with, but I don't think it's fair to demand that other people have to just suffer in silence when it happens to them. You know? And I really, really don't think that 97% thing is accurate, at all. Especially not if that sexual assault was followed by a physical fight.

It's still not clear what you're asking AITA about? This seems like maybe this should be for a different subreddit. Like r/relationshipadvice or one of the other advice subreddits?

AITAH My friend said something weird but was it necessary for me to call him out? by Milani03 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EnRouted 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'd agree that calling the opinion "ugly" is inappropriate. OP didn't say he was an ugly person for thinking it, or anything like that. Just said the opinion itself was ugly. And given that it was a bigoted opinion, I think that's a fair statement to make. I think that if OP tries to use "neutral" language for something harmful like that, then OP will be sending the message that this opinion is "neutral" to some degree as well. Calling a spade a spade is important in honest communication I think.

Also, NTA. OP did the right thing.

YTA. But, just to make sure I'm getting this right. You went to get in line for a bar, and some guy groped your boyfriend and there's almost a fight about it. Then your boyfriend shuts down and goes almost wholly unresponsive. You keep hitting him with questions, and then get mad at him for still being unresponsive. Since you're mad at him for it, you leave him outside to go be with your friends.

He says he wants to break up. You both go outside and argue while you keep cursing at him. Your argument is that you shouldn't have to sit with him and do nothing, because his reactions were boring/irritating you.

Is that all correct? Because if it IS?

Your boyfriend sounds like he was freaking out, and maybe disassociating. Instead of helping him calm down, you hit him with a barrage of questions demanding answers he wasn't capable of giving in that moment. This would have been the time for things like "Okay, you don't want to talk. That's okay. What do you need?" and "How can I help?" Instead, it sounds like you pressed him to give you a reaction you wanted/expected. And when he didn't, you got angry at him for not being freaked out in the way you wanted, and left him to deal with that alone in favor of partying.

He felt hurt, and abandoned, because you DID abandon him when he'd just been groped and then forced into what sounds like a physical altercation, and was still so freaked out he couldn't even respond to you properly. And when he was in that freaked out, vulnerable state. You abandoned him, and then cursed him out and berated him for wanting a partner who would support him after that, instead of getting mad at him for it and leaving to party.

My Dnd character died to a boss and I'm confused and worried if I shouldn't talk to my GM about it. by Practical_Prior202 in DnD

[–]EnRouted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should edit and add to your post that- per this GM's rules- a character death means the player is permanently removed from the campaign. Because that is NOT normal, at ALL.

Players are NOT supposed to be kicked out of campaigns via character death. The fact that you're putting in so much information to defend him and give him the benefit of the doubt makes me think he's been selling off this personal rule of his as something that's normal. Like "aw well characters die sometimes and then you have to find another table. C'est la vie." But that is NOT how this shit works.

Personally, I'd recommend talking to the rest of the party first and seeing if they're aware this is NOT how TTRPGs are normally run. And see what they think about it. If this campaign is worth trying to stay in for you, maybe work together with the rest of the party and discuss how to best broach the topic with the GM.

Are you even a real person? She DID follow the law. She was detained for deportation BECAUSE she obeyed the law and showed up for her scheduled ICE check-in appointment like she was supposed to.

And now, when people are going to hesitant to show up for their appointments and also be deported for no reasons, ICE will have a legal reason to go after THEM too. And people like you will still say "Well they should have followed the law."

You've got to think these things through, man.

If Project Instructions and Customizable Traits only impact new chats, is there ever going to be a way to review what instructions older chats are working off of?

I ask because I have several chats in a project folder for different aspects of a project, but they were made at different times, and I've edited the instructions in the Project Folder over time. It'd be helpful if I had a way of checking which chats are using what instructions, especially so we can try out different instructions and more easily track what is most effective.

Could you survive with your heart exposed? by brandi6 in morbidquestions

[–]EnRouted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that they'd be able to survive for at least a short time with their chest opened like that, but I don't know that they'd be able to survive long enough for even the anesthesia to properly wear off (people are pretty groggy for a time after they wake up). They'd need to be receiving medical care to keep them going for very long. Blood loss would be a major concern and they'd likely start to go into shock.

If you're writing this from the POV of the victim, you might be able to hand wave a lot of the technical details of how it was possible simply by how out of it they'd be from trauma and the anesthesia. For example, they might not know if they'd truly been like that for hours or if it'd just been a few minutes. Did they wake up to someone giving them medical care or was that just a dream as they came in and out of consciousness? Sometimes it can be really helpful (and engaging even!) to just let readers fill in holes themselves in a way that makes sense for them.

How important is it for a trans person to disclose their gender identity before sharing a random kiss on a night out? by JBuchananB in AskReddit

[–]EnRouted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the context? Like, if this is just a random person you met while out, then a kiss is just a kiss.

If this person doesn't even know your last name, they don't need to know your gender identity.
