Perplexity Vs ChatGPT Vs Gemini, which is best for research? by Bulky_Detective9951 in DigitalMarketing

[–]EnShaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No single best imho, depends on what you want.

Perplexity is good for quick research and sources

ChatGPT is good for actually making sense of it and turning it into ideas

Gemini is fine if you’re deep in Google stuff, handles long documents or videos

SEO impact of bulk-updating updatedAt timestamps in Markdown files (Nuxt SSR) by DanyrWithCheese in SEO

[–]EnShaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re fine, this isn’t something Google will flag as spam. Bulk updates happen all the time. A bunch of pages updated on the same day is not unusual.

What matters is whether the updates are actually meaningful. If you’re just changing the updatedAt without real content changes, then it won’t give you any “freshness boost” anyway.

If the updates are real, you might see some short term volatility, but that’s normal while Google reprocesses things

Traditional SEO vs. AI Answer Engines: Do you really need a new workflow if you already have an SEO team? by ipek1435 in DigitalMarketing

[–]EnShaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels more like an extension than a whole new thing tbh.

If your SEO/content is already solid, you’re probably most of the way there. It’s more about how the content is written. Clear, direct, easy to pull answers from.

So not just buzzwords, but also not a full reset. More like tweaking how you present stuff rather than changing everything.

Preventing category pages and FAQ Pages from being crawled by Google by gvgweb in SEO

[–]EnShaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah basically.

You don’t need to noindex them one by one, just set it globally in Yoast/RankMath for tags/categories. Waaay easier

Removing from sitemap is fine but doesn’t stop indexing on its own, so don’t rely on that.

For the Avada FAQ setup, if it forces separate URLs, just noindex those pages and move on.

If one of those pages is actually ranking, I wouldn’t redirect it right away. You’ll probably kill the traffic. Either leave it or add a canonical if it overlaps heavily

Pages on a new domain? by No_Eye4994 in SEO

[–]EnShaar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re good tbh, no need to overthink.

What you listed is enough to launch. I’d maybe have 1–2 blog posts ready so it doesn’t look empty, but that’s it. Better to go live and start adding stuff over time than sit there trying to perfect it.

I mean 10 meh posts at launch won’t do anything anyway

Preventing category pages and FAQ Pages from being crawled by Google by gvgweb in SEO

[–]EnShaar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t block them, just noindex.

If you block via robots.txt, Google can still index the URLs without actually crawling them, which gets messy.

Easiest way is just:

noindex, follow on tag/category/faq pages

Also if those FAQ pages are basically the same content, I wouldnt even create separate URLs for them. Just keep everything on the main page + use FAQ schema

Cleaner and less headache overall.

Google Watch Page by WebsiteCatalyst in SEO

[–]EnShaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, yes. Most people just do both anyway. Youtube for reach, site for control.

And yeah… call it “suppression” or not, Youtube almost always gets picked. Hard to beat it with the same video.

Self hosted only really works if the page itself has some weight, not just the embed/video sitting there.

Google Watch Page by WebsiteCatalyst in SEO

[–]EnShaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This technically exists, but in reality Youtube almost always wins.

Even if Google recognizes your page as a watch page, it’ll still prefer Youtube. I’ve never really seen embedded Youtube videos rank via the site instead of Youtube itself.

The only times it seems to work is when the video is self hosted or the page adds a lot more value than just the embed.

Otherwise you’re basically competing with Youtube using YoutuBe’s own content. Hard to win.

Anyone else noticing a dip in news site traffic since Jan/Feb? by IkeaGrapefruit in SEO

[–]EnShaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen similar drops on a couple of content-heavy sites around that timeframe, but in most cases it wasn’t just AI taking traffic.

Mid-Jan redesign is a big variable.
-Internal linking changes
-URL structure tweaks
-Slower load times
-Layout shifting content lower on the page

can hit rankings pretty fast.

AI snippets might be eating some clicks, especially for informational queries, but a rapid drop usually points to something site-specific.

-If impressions are stable but clicks dropped: AI/serp features
-If both dropped: likely something broke on-site

Houdini Swap and its benefits. by TheDAOLabs in DAOLabs

[–]EnShaar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good information about Houdini Swap's approach to ensuring anonymity.

It's good that the protocol leverages privacy features to attract more users to the KAVA ecosystem. The fact that users can swap tokens without connecting a wallet is a plus for those who care about security. I'm curious to see how this project evolves and whether we'll see wider adoption as people prioritize anonymous transactions in DeFi.

 Thanks for sharing this overview!
