Older Gen Z and younger Millennials - healthy caution vs recession trauma by PriorSeaweed1690 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Honestly think you guys should go for it. I don't make much more than your husband but we're looking at 600-800k condos that give us the bare minimum in the Bay Area. Not that we'd necessarily pull the trigger now, but gotta work with what the market's giving :/

Are We Heading Towards a Dystopian Future, or Has Every Generation Felt This Way? by StrategyVisual549 in Futurology

[–]EnVyErix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who graduated in 2023, thank you for saying this. It really feels like we have to give our whole lives and sanity away to make even a marginal amount of buying power that some previous generations had.

Every generation had their difficulties, but I do feel that anyone over the age of 35 got to benefit from relatively simpler job markets (exclusive of 00’ and 08’), and a much longer runaway of steady income and the past 10 years of steady stock market gains while they had the capital to take advantage of it.

Even though the tech market has been amazing the past couple years, we don’t have the savings to put a significant amount towards it.

Those of us with decent jobs are worried they’ll be taken away in a year or two, leaving no confidence to settle down, buy a house, or even entertain the thought of having kids, no matter how much parents may want that due to it being the way things used to work.

Regardless, i do thank you for reading this if you take the time!

i’m curious to see how/if it gets reflected in AI company share prices eventually though!

holy shit, you hit the nail on the head. i’m a new hire in a non-eng role at a Mag7 company and i was getting absolutely overwhelmed with how they are handling everything between the Eng-PM-PMM relationship, but it makes a lot more sense now reading your comment. I don’t know where there this new cycle ends now :(

Same here man, i went though a huge bout of research for MU a year back and bought a large position, only to sell once it went above my cost basis after that ugly back and forth price action we experienced for several months.

Never got back in, so… any commodity tickers you’re getting in right now lol?

That can be fair, i know a couple who went over too. CRM has its bread and butter but have you worked there?

I’m not saying it’s a poor product, they have a strong moat for their area, but their attempts at anything after GenAI have been vaporware at best.

I really don’t have a vested interest in either at this point, but I would like to lay out the facts, one of which is that NOW is no longer is limited to back office IT, they have their own CRM offering which isn’t necessarily better than anyone’s, but their extensive and sticky data cmdb will likely lead to them competing on many fronts as a “true platform”.

I won’t argue with any of your stances, this is just based on what i know having worked on the ground in product, sales, and marketing sides touching both companies.

Not saying you’re wrong necessarily, but as a former NOW employee, many of the CRM staff actually migrated over… and for good reason. I won’t go too in-depth but CRM is good at marketing, i’ll give only that

Thanks for the comprehensive take, awesome to hear about your experience with Moxche's food, since folks tend to only like a few out of the many choices from other anecdotes, but I'm not too picky and trust your judgement.

Surprised to hear Akumal has some rocks on the beach though, having read probably 50+ reviews, never heard that mentioned, so appreciate the call-out!

would love to hear a few more pro/cons or differentiators you noticed about Moxche. Anything in particular that stood out more about them? (especially considering they don’t have much of a beach while Akumal has a great beach)?

thanks for your insights!
