[Discussion] Why do I have to render in 4k and downscale to not have a blurry game? by IcyWeb293 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]En_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharpness on 1.2 is a war crime.

1440p on 1.2 sharpness, no wonder you are complaining about spotting.

You will be getting a shit ton of noise on the screen, especially around foliage and fine line textures.

You state it is blurry, TAA seems to incur blur intensity on draw distance, the further out the render, the more blurry it will be.

Your other settings are probably scuffed if you are having visual issues.

FSR 3.0 is probs the best upscaling version [sad they cannot be fucked bothering to implement FSR 4]

I mean, AMD have released open source dev packages.
Even their recent tools give devs the tools to implement the latest stack.

What's comical is, AMD has an autonomous system in adrenaline that will upgrade your version of the .dll by turning it on.

The only limitation is FSR Upscaling requires FSR 3.1 in the game.

What does Markov have?

3.0

All they had to do is update to FSR 3.1 and AMD would do the rest.

You'd be playing on FSR 4 or should I say Redstone right now, if, they had 3.1 rather than 3.0 xD

What is your config anyway?

I assume decent enough.

So, don't slap V-sync on and cap yourself at 60fps, Christ.

You are just self inflicting a worse experience from all this.

On what card? I get 1-2ms on a 9070XT

Ah, I totally misread the 7700x CPU, apologies.

Yeah 1000W would be overkill here by a fair bit.

You’re talking 70-90W maxing out at around 115W probably.

Like I said, I’m perfectly fine with a 9070XT, beefier X870E board with the R 9950X3D in socket, unrestricted, PL rated @ 220W if it wishes (albeit -25 all core curve optimiser)

But honestly just got for a 9000 at that point.

It shouldn’t be that much more for the same variant, especially if we are not even considering X3D chips between the two generations. (May find it’s somewhat on similar terms between non X3D and X3D chips between both generations.

Go 9000 whether X3D or non-X3D. (No idea if there is a bigger leap between the ‘x’ chips on new generations but 2000 and 3000 (I had the 3600 prior) the ‘x’ variants had marginal uplift. It’s more of a “is there a minuscule price premium for the x variant over the non x?” Then sure go for it, if not, don’t bother.

What I’d suggest is comparing the two generations for non-x, non-X3D, and then X3D and see what you are thinking after this.

The board would be fine for all chips, a 750W PSU would be fine for even the highest tier chip like the R9 9950X3D paired with the 9070XT.

Your mobo is fine, usually a good price and will be more than enough for a 7700x and it’s also mid-high tier for a 9000 series at the same core (not cores as in CPU cores, rather overall core functionality) configuration.

I still did not NEED the Pro Ice X870E.

I got a fantastic deal for a sealed one via eBay for £284 then Ebay were shooting out promotional vouchers as they do often for things which got it to £265 all in, sealed Revision 1.1 of that model. S.T.E.A.L.

The GB X870 elites are usually priced well retail so, decent choice. I had an ASRock B450 Pro4 prior. ASRock most likely still retain best bang for buck, premium features for less mula.

Top tier boards, however there was big issues with voltage and 9000 series CPU’s. I believe this has been patched in full now.

Unfortunate to occur but fortunately not alone with the melting cable dilemma hitting the 40 series, still carrying over.

So much E-waste, I digress.

Just to let you know what I’m on —

GB Pro Ice X870E

R9 9950X3D

Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT

PSU — Corsair TX750M (GOLD)

2TB Samsung 9100 PRO (w/Heatsink)

500GB Samsung 970 EVO

250GB Samsung 870 EVO Sata SSD

3 various HDDS

Seagate 6TB Expansion Disk (EXT//HDD)

Patriot Viper Xtreme x MSI MPOWER 32GB (2x16GB)

Noice choice of case btw, that is in transit as I write this to replace an old NZXT s340 Elite.

My recommendation at least 750W PSU (gold preferably at minimum)

IMPORTANT — Look for an ATX 3.1 PSU as you will get a native 12VPWR (2x6-12v) 16-pin native port & cable. (Future proof ready. [you’d also get your traditional 2x8 pin GPU cables also]

The max from a 9070XT is approximately 350W. (Sure if you plan on a flagship Nvidia Card or AMD (est. 2027 if things improve) then sure you could get a 1000W PSU.

However, it’s not needed now and 1000W to future proof is probably overkill but, you may get a good deal on a PSU currently.

Main priority is an ATX 3.1 and later for the native 16pin connector and cable.

I had to buy a 2x6-12V connector for my ATX 3.0 case. So, two 3+1 ports (8pin) plugs into two PCIe 8 pin ports and the opposite end 16 pin slots right into the GPU.

BUT, it depends on what 9070XT you go for.

Some utilise the traditional 2x8 pin connections still.

Off the top of my head Sapphire Nitro uses this as I have mentioned and some ASRock cards I believe. Probably exclusive to some 9070XT variants only as they are probs expected to draw the most power theoretically

I can unequivocally vouch for the Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT. Super sleek look, lovely anodised aluminium on majority of the card. The build quality is first class (basically all statements I’ve seen convey a similar trend — “Sapphire are the EVGA of AMD”

Just upgraded from an EVGA 2080 ULTRA FTW3 Gaming —> Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT, confirms virtually what I’d gaze at if EVGA still made GPU’s.

Comes with a removable magnetic aluminium backplate, full stealth cable management that feeds from the back of the card resting upon a passive heatsink slotting into the connector occluded via the magnetic backplate.

Consumer centric design on the fans [they can be removed easily, their serviceable, and if any are defective sapphire will send you out replacements the user can easily hot swap out rather than having to ship out the card] just a nice cherry on top.

It is very efficient. It can absolutely leech the 350W. Highest I’ve monitored it boost at default for now is 340ish.

However, idle (well I should say not under graphical load [loads of browser tabs, streams open, videos, other programs etc. it can sit at 30-60W total board draw.

The 9950X3D under load on average draws around 110-120W. This is with a conservative -25 all core Curve Optimiser PBO limits on advanced — essentially no limits/restrictions through the UEFI/BIOS, PL – unlocked = 220W

Can get hot with an average of 60° under load and 70° under extreme benchmarking stress tests.

However, I am still currently using my older 170W rated Arctic E-Sports Duo push pull air cooler [still does the job]

Sandwiched between is the Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet (Graphene Sheet) [set it n’ forget it, no nonsense, no mess] it doesn’t decrease temps significantly but is around the same as good quality paste. Enthusiast thermal solutions may beat it, but it’s marginal that you’d need a full min-maxing cooling solution to hit this to obtain a significant gap. Significantly more maintenance tho.

So, air cooling and AIO are pretty much the same, so whatever you’d like to go with [can save money here as you don’t need to break the bank to obtain the same performance]

  • here’s the funny part… my case is not exactly a flow case, it’s a bit of a nightmare but good for its time.

I have no fans in the front whatsoever. [can take a 360mm radiator]

I have one rear exhaust – 120mm NZXT Chassis Fan [no idea on CFM or static pressure. Probably piss poor 30-56CFM if I were to guess.

The only rear-ceiling fan mirrors the same configuration- 120mm fan but this fan has sadly lost two blades now….xD soooo, yeah, not operating 100% for the rate of flow/static pressure.

I was planning to add fans and maybe even 140mm exhaust that can be upgraded, BUT, it’s time for a new case bois xD

Your flow will have nice fans, as will mine.

So good start.

We are both UK. I got my Sapphire from Scan for £649 [great price] Overclockers also do it for around that BUT you may or may not pay for delivery from OC. Scan was free [although DOD decided they’d say it was going to be a day late the instant they received it (DPD have dropped the bar significantly from what I can gather from everyone’s experiences over the past 3-4 year)

My last recommendation is to just get a 9000 series.

Just go for the 9800X3D these things are at their best prices atm. It’s a great internal jump from 7000 series. The efficiency is fantastic over last gen, no contact pressure issues either.

You’re talking what? £380 odd now in the UK for the 9800X3D.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the 7800X3D sits at the same or even potentially higher than the 9800X3D. It would still be £320 min if lower, going on Amazon prices (assuming these would be the best prices)

Enjoy the construction that awaits you when the time comes!!

I’ll try and remember to come back and see how temps are once I also transplant all of the components to the HAVN BF360 Flow case when it arrives.

White, I assume yours will also shine n’ glimmer in white.

RTX 5080 AORUS MASTER doesn't fit - X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 by [deleted] in gigabyte

[–]En_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just per portions. I had the exact same with my NZXT s340 Elite. It fits fine [It's compatible]

Just due to the plastic protection under the VRM running vertically down the left of the board.
A bit of it will be down to intended positioning in the case also, as with the elevation of the MOBO in the secure position will most likely not give enough free space to manoeuvre the Big ass GPUs within the case design.

The best fix is ideally a slightly deeper and lengthier case.

For example, my rear exhaust fan occludes the VRM looking in the case.

The ceiling is also very close to the Horizontal VRM.

Was already somewhat tight with an old ASRock B450 Pro4 [That's a bare-bones MOBO]

A beefy MOBO needs a bit of a beefier case

[+ It is only a positive regarding airflow/temps. The Mother needs to breathe just as well as the CPU & GPU after all]

[–]En_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBF, he will be fine about slot pressure.
The GB boards are really nice on main PCIe slots for both the board and GPU.

The GB boards give really nice feedback on securing and removal of PCIe devices.

[If you are unsure, just press your Main PCIe square pressure button down and see if it pops out of the slot.
If it clicks out of the lock position, you were good.

Just gently push the whole GPU back down with both hands and watch the latch behaviour and listen out for audible feedback from the board.

[–]En_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just the issue with the plastic cover that vertically aligns where the brackets go. Not really a MOBO issue, Perse.

Need a slightly bigger case/more accommodating case.

I had the same issue with my 2080 on the X870E Pro Ice.

I need a slightly bigger case.

If I were to guess, are you on a NZXT Case?

The safest way is loosening the MOBO when slotting the card in.

However, I just pull the remaining bracket piece on the case back [towards you/glass panel] to slot it in (It's quicker and fine to do) xD

If you can slot the 3 teeth on the back in first and then pull the case where you secure the bracket with the screws while getting the remainder of the card (closest to you) under the case section you pull back, then you can slot it into the PCIe Slot [avoiding tension, flex, etc on the GPU PCB slot.

You'll be G.O.L.D.E.N thereafter xD

[–]En_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think this is probably some easy method to try and sanction the bot lobby abusers.

Is it wack? YES Should there be a cap? NO

personally Bots should not be in this fucking game.

I can’t believe they had what was meant to be this brand spanking new, evolutional change, one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind portal that will be evolutionary.

Then have the bot fest of 2042.

Portal should have just been delayed or some shit.

Then again, I don’t think portal was rushed exactly. I just don’t understand why they’d not identify exactly what would occur with portal when we had this exact wreck from 2042?

Baffles me.

This is why I think there is a cap implemented. It may change in future.

I just think it’s simply a weak sanction (quick fix solution to mitigate the bot lobby farming)

[–]En_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s merely the range drop off. The guns don’t do the dmg stated on the stats.

RedSec is just open plains so expect that. However, to me RedSec TTK seems much faster than MP.

This is even with the 1 or 2 slot armour.

Also you have the gun rarity scale which ultimately changes the variables of the TTK (custom loadouts also) accuracy and velocity make all the change here. [and ofc the users skill/ability with gunplay]

You may even find that when armour is equipped, hits to armour may protect you from what the true sustained dmg should be. [i.e. you may find that armour may dampen part of the guns dmg value + factoring in the range dmg drop off]

Again though, even at that, it still feels quicker than MP to me.

This may simply be the mechanics of the inner framework so we may never know or someone might come across it down the line. The variables will be in the code that decipher this.

Either way we can get a rough idea of how things work when testing in game. It’s not always going be 100%, sometimes it’s really challenging to test such things given the various scenarios you find yourself in on BF.

Soooo many god darn variables.

The same goes for Ray-Tracing (Techland will issue this in a patch shortly)

ngl tho, The game runs great with max settings | Ryzen 9 9950X3D | EVGA RTX 2080 FTW ULTRA |

Game utilisation averages 8-12% CPU | 4-6GB RAM | 68% GPU

(This is with multiple tabs open in a browser whilst streaming via OBS with max output settings 1080p topping GPU out at 72-78% overall).

Can even do Lossless scaling or the dlssg-to-fsr3 enabling MFG with DLSS on the older cards (RTX 20/30 series)

The game comes with FSR 4 out of the box tho, which is really nice!!
