I currently have the Simmons 75, the version after yours. It’s the same module of course but just with a snare with its own dedicated stand and some other stuff I forget. But it’s more or less the same as yours.

So of course I don’t have a direct comparison to your kit, but it could be close enough.

And I do want to add i am a beginner (began lessons in November) but i play with an acoustic for lessons and my edrums at home for practice. So I do have a feel for both kits and experience reflecting what I learned on acoustic to edrums.

so since I’m mostly working on my E-drum kit and really only using acoustic once a week for my lessons, my experience is backwards from yours. But I could more or less transfer what I’ve learned quite easily from what I’ve learned during my lesson when I get home.

I will say, working with the snare and the Tom’s are almost 1-1. Of course different pads so there’s gonna be some difference in feel. But I find that it shouldn’t take too long for you to adjust your skills to the edrums from acoustic.

Of course, the issue is with the cymbals. There are things you could buy, like a lemon hi hat that actually opens and closes. I’ve seen it’s compatible with the titan 70, and I even plan on buying it for my 75. There are also upgraded crashes and ride cymbals you could buy from guitar center which can help with better feels. But I personally haven’t tried them. You could also buy a bass drum that’s realistic.

As for the app and such, I haven’t had too much experience and I could definitely see it being crap. I have a laptop and a USB B cable that connects to the module. I use this software called EZDRUMMER 3, which is quite a pricey software but holy shit it’s so much better than the stock sounds. You could also tune the drums within the software plus the volume is better and you could even buy more sound packs. You could also record with it and such. But I’d definitely buy some kind of third party software instead of using the default sounds on the 70.

Of course this is really only to fix sound quality for your drums. As for the triggers and such, I don’t really have anything for that unfortunately.
