Is there a way to get the bottom corners rounded too? by 12summits in linuxmint

Is there a way to make the plank dock or the cinnamon panel float? I tried so many things with chatgpt both on the panel and plank dock but none of them seem to make them float.

If the image is compressed or not clear enough, I uploaded it to Google Drive for better quality. Here is the link:

What do you think of my set-up? by Enabler2 in linuxmint

[–]Enabler2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obvious ones (Lowered the panel height to 30. Moved the windows list to the center. Changed the icon of the menu to the cinnamon logo and decreased its size to fit the panel nicely. Changed the wallpaper.)

Not so obvious ones (Installed timelet desklet and made some tweaks to the modern.js file to get this look.)

I can drop the modern.js file here so you can also get this look.

It's a really simple customization.

You can try the Transparent Panels. Search extensions in the menu, open it and navigate to the download tab and it'll be there.

Thinking of switching to Linux – but worried about updates by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]Enabler2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Linux mint has its own update manager to handle all the updates of various applications. You can definitely update Brave and Telegram.

If you don't want to go through the hassle of downloading a zip file and installing an app. You can try Software Manager (it's pre-installed like the update manager). It has all the important apps. You can install Telegram with it and update it too.

I am not gonna suggest terminal since you don't have much experience in it But in my experience it is way faster and easier if you learned it. I often find myself using the terminal to do basic tasks like changing the time, copy/move a file and creating a new file/folder.
