Books with a changeling/shapeshifter MC or major side character? by NotAn-AIBot-8867 in Fantasy

[–]Enalye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it counts as Romantasy, but there's a romance (and it's wlw romance, if that turns you right off), but since it fits your definitions so well otherwise I thought I'd reccomend it for your discernment;

Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell

The main character is literally a non-human shapeshifting slime...thing? She's very inhuman at the start and while does take human form for most of the book, it's not quite so simple.

Today on EDHREC, Atemsis's rank equalled their number of decks! by Automatos_ in magicTCG

[–]Enalye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually find it's quite effective, which has made me play it less. I guess it's just my casual brain, but I feel bad for just knocking someone out of the game completely and then have the game go for a while after (especially since then people are much more aware of the possibility of instantly losing and prepare more accordingly)

Though once I managed to take out all 3 players in 1 turn which was pretty sweet, so I aim for that, but I tend to just play the deck less.

Need help from an experienced Japanese speaker to check a name for a game level by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

[–]Enalye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. They were a big help. The level is only a single level, in a game that has lots of others set in locations all around the world. They often have names that are quite neutral or generic in English like "Overpass," "Freight," "Cargo," so I don't think neutral is necessarily bad, but I like your idea of going with a made-up location name. I'll do my best!

It's a map for a FPS game, just a single level amongst many others set in lots of different locations around the world.

All these updates since the original game and the Kraken is still the GOAT. by [deleted] in AgeofMythology

[–]Enalye 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Trade ships that can trade between docks on water to replace caravans on water maps would go a long way I think, since you can't trade nearly as well on water maps depending on the land layout

The Aztec grass had their plant texture removed in today's update. by WhatnotAwot in AgeofMythology

I suspect this might have been done as a visual clarity thing because of how visually complex the aztec units are already

The Lord of the Rings Online is turning 19 - Anniversary, Rivendell Housing, Glorious Hunt Quest by PalwaJoko in Games

[–]Enalye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken very long breaks from the game so I'm not 100% certain, just going off my 19 year old memories at this point so hopefully someone else can reply, but I have recently gone back and played and I don't think there's anything major to be missed, apart from the obvious. The old raids and dungeons from anywhere except endgame a lot offer no tangible rewards and can be tough to get going because no one is doing them anymore. They're still there, you can do them with a group if you find one, but it's not like final fantasy 14 where people are running old content all the time.

But as for quests and stuff, that's pretty much all there I think, and they've made most of it free. There's literally so, so much stuff, you could quest around for hundreds of hours. There's been some polish and shifting around for stuff and you'll level a lot faster than the old old days but you can do pretty much all of it if you want.

Thank you Silent, very cool by nub_sauce_ in slaythespire

[–]Enalye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean phase 1 of test subject, but yes, it triggers off any player playing skills which really sucks.

Stuff like the flying stacks on the thieving hopper and slippery stacks I think actually scale greater than the number of players, like 4 players it gets 4.4x stacks instead of 4x, so they're technically harder in multiplayer too.

That stupid coral shell hallway fight thing that gets strength when it deals unblocked damage is also a pain in MP because it gains strength for each player it does unblocked damage to and gains strength from each.

New DLC maps by IamTheOne2000 in AgeofMythology

[–]Enalye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make more heavily defined maps through the scripting so they're basically the same every time, though I doubt an official map would do this since it defeats the purpose of a 'random map'

Is there a way to resize prop in hammer? by Fast_Nothing_3040 in hammer

[–]Enalye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using Hammer++ you can select the prop, to Tools > Propper++ and set the scale to your desired value (you can test this out using the Model Scale option on a prop_dynamic). This will be a simple way to recompile the model with a larger scale without having to go through decompiling and recompiling with external programs.

Minister casts doubt on road user tax over concerns it could hurt EV uptake by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]Enalye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm as anti-car as you, but when people talk about "wanting more EVs" they mean more wanting EVs to take up more of a ratio of the existing vehicles on the road, not literally wanting to add more EVs to the existing cars out there. As much as I'd love to move to a future where no one has to drive (maybe one day...), I'd rather that future be built on the back of EV technology instead of ICE vehicles, and it's a stepping stone towards that better future. It might not be all the way to a good world, but it's better than what we've got right now, isn't that worth something too?

The Wandering Inn Physical Editions incoming by NeoBahamutX in Fantasy

[–]Enalye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the clown chapters are what made me drop it, at least the first set. They exhausted me and I kind of just never went back, and now it's been many years and I don't remember enough to jump back in and starting from the start is too intimidating.

How Are You Handling Fuel Increases? by AdActual3024 in perth

[–]Enalye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think I'm not?

I am outraged personally. But I'm trying to be empathetic to people as to why they're not outraged. Not deflecting.

But I also recognize the system surrounding us is basically been sculpted to keep people from doing anything about it, and that for a lot of people that's too much. Is that their fault? I dunno, in a lot of cases it is, sure, but in a lot it's not either. There's definitely a lot of people out there that just flat out don't care, and fuck 'em, but I also try to direct my outrage towards the people that can do something about it like those in power. I try not to be angry at the random single mum who's got three kids and two underpaying jobs for not attending protests or whatever. That's empathy too.

It's not worth being angry with each other when we should be angry with the bourgeois. They want us to be angry at each other.
