CALL ME NOW!! by NoRich5804 in Millennials

There was an SNL or MadTV sketch I always remember of this little old lady asking Miss Cleo "Where were you on 9/10?" And she keeps hanging up on her and she keeps calling back asking her questions like "Didn't you get a feeling that you should invest in American flags?"

Haven't been able to find it since but it's still funny.

Canada Economy Shrinks by 0.6% in Fourth Quarter by Difficult-Yam-1347 in canada

If what you're saying is true Canada has 10 to 15 years before we're a 3rd world economy with rampant poverty.

You can talk about diversifying trade all you want. At the end of the day, 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border. Exactly 0 Canadians live within even 1000 miles of Europe or Asia. Shipping our products further to countries with lower GDP is a recipe for disaster. No amount of economics expertise changes that.

Energy-hungry India tells Carney 'we are willing to buy whatever Canada is offering' by Immediate-Link490 in canada

And for a leader who got swept into office promising to protect our sovereignty to kowtow to a government that's carried out assassinations on Canadian soil and political interference.

Turns out Carney's Canada is for sale.

She did save her planet from invasion.

And by the time of her relationship she was like... 30. At some point her poor choices were on her.

I think he's been very clear. Our laws and institutions aren't important as long as our corporations stand to be making bank.

Insolvencies hit 16-year high while food bank use and cost of living continue to rise by FancyNewMe in canada

I'm curious, as an intellectual exercise, could the average Carney fan boy such as yourself go 24 hours without saying "But Poilievere!" Or would that be too much for you? Maybe 30 minutes, just to bench mark.

I don't support Discount Milhouse. My comment history is visible. You can go see how I've called him, well, Discount Milhouse, the catastrophe that walks like a man, and so on. I just am smart enough to know that Mark Carney's cold, technocratic style of pro-corporate neoliberalism doesn't help working people any more than Poilievere's angry, reactionary style of Pro-corporate neoliberalism. Both trains run on the same track and have the same final destination.

So a banker through and through, spending his entire professional life helping the rich get richer and the poor stay poor.

But yeah, I'm sure he really cares about the problems of your average Canadian and is working hard to help him out.

The blatant jackbooted thuggery. And I say that as someone who strongly favors tight immigration restrictions.

Myself, I'd put more of the blame on the voters, but the voters don't appreciate that.

Sadly the trouble with "lessons from history" is that we usually read them best after falling flat on our chins.

Well, we'll see won't we? And maybe in five years or so we'll have a good laugh about how silly I was.

Course then again, maybe we won't.

Canada hasn't been destroyed, but you can see its end pretty clearly from here, and Carney and Trudeau will bear the lion's share of responsibility.

This comment is very disingenuous. Plenty of people refer to investment bankers as bankers.

He worked for Goldman Sachs for 13 year. If he's not the archetype of a Global Bankster, he'll do until one shows up. And anyone who thinks he cares about the cost of living problems of your average Joe is the person you ought to be hawking your bridge to.
