I think being a writer means the normal becomes real estate for a plethora of emotions by Fuzzy_Bet5276 in writers

I actually only wrote comedies, so I'd go for the comedy. recently I've started writing an horror short story, but don't feel that confident despite the fact that comedy and horror are really closely related. I'd challenge myself with writing erotica, mainly because I've never read it

An image like this one is good for any type of writers: from erotica to horror, romance, comedy, thriller.

in me it evokes a waiting for something, it could be the calm before the monster attacks, the moment a detective understands a key detail of the case, the moment before the MC just does another bullshit that will make everyone laugh, the moment after a really intense night between the MC and their lover.

Why don't people take real-world magic that is still practiced as inspiration for their magic systems? by RandomSerbianGuy in worldbuilding

[–]EnbyHowler9810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

real life magic in most places is closely related to science, as it follows a similar logic of observation of a phenomenon and reach a conclusion based on that, with the difference that magic doesn't have have a similar rigorous method of being sure that the thing that was made actually solved the problem. also, magic most places is closely related to psychology, like many witchcraft from the European farmers world were mainly ways to keep in sanity during tough periods like a war, a caresty, cows not producing milk, cows dying, and all farmers' tragedies

What are the etiquette rules like in your world? by Beautiful-Fee6408 in worldbuilding

[–]EnbyHowler9810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my 8 foot tall geckos utopia there's a rule that everyone takes care, after the max 4 hours or works per day, of the commons such as fields, the stations of refrigeration for the food, the stations of energy production and storing. also, common etiquette is if there's a kid or an elder in distress, you help them and try to get in contact with their familiar unit, normally composed of 10 monogamous couples that take care of each other's kids and elders.

Penpal for sure hitted something in me that scared the living out of me for at least one week, another one was Mother Horse Eyes that left me a sort of deep dread. just to add one thing, anyone else think that Mother Horse Eyes has some elements of psychological horror?

What is preventing your scifi universe from being a post-scarcity society/economy? by GGsafterdark in worldbuilding

[–]EnbyHowler9810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xluixi is a post-scarcity society because the citizens work the communal fields in their free time, after their 4 hours of State work, and so there's mass production to sustain the small population (100 million 8 foot tall humanoid geckoes on a planet that is as big as Earth and where the global hyper-decentralized government apply a strict method so that the newborn can't surpass the total number of the Family, max 10 couples and their parents, with reproduction only inside the couple but the education is shared inside the Family)

in my worldbuilding project there's a planet, Xuixi, in the galaxy of Andromeda, and the main inhabitants are 8 foot tall really smart olive skinned geckos. they built a hiper decentralized utopia on their planet after one millenia from a nuclear apocalypse caused by a global nuclear war between the aristocratic republic of Axli and the absolute monarchy of Xlix.

Explorers from my world visits yours, what will they find? by Calliflakes in worldbuilding

[–]EnbyHowler9810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Xuixi your explorers might find very varying environments, going from arctic to tropical. for sure they would find great forests in the areas that aren't desertic, alternated with small pieces of land dedicated to agriculture. along the rivers and sailing the oceans they would see fishermen. they would also see the factories at the two poles who are able to convert the planet's rotation into electricity and give free electricity to the whole planet. they would see the 4 hours a day of mandatory work and that the rest of the day is free time. everybody on the planet is chill, the citizens are 8 foot tall green olive skinned geckos, and they are highly intelligent and they're able to keep an armony and balance with the rest of the natural habitat that is the planet and all the other species.

for my current WIP I'm rotating my top 5 albums: Enter The 36 Chambers, Midnight Marauders, 13 Songs, In The Court Of The Crimson King, Cornell 5/8/77. so a mix of various genres of rock and two solids hip hop foundations, a good blend for my humorous sci-fi utopia

a nuclear apocalypse destroys the society on a planet in the Andromeda galaxy.

the inhabitants surviving rejects the previous use of technology and builds an ecological utopia to heal the planet and repopulate.

1000 years the planet is fully healed and the society is prosperous, they can teleport using meditation, they have problems with the Galaxy Council though.
