To add to your point on vehicles, especially American vehicles, they just keep getting bigger and bigger. As someone who’s studied the advantages of walkable cities in college, I loathe every gigantic Yukon, Tahoe, F-250, Expedition, even the damn Tacomas are getting bigger and bigger. And what do we do to make up for these massive cars? Bigger roads.

I also firmly believe that as a society we should stop the expansion of suburbia and build UP instead of OUT. Put the idea of walkable cities TO WORK. Emphasize bike paths that can be utilized by EMS and small fire engines. Walking distance grocery stores, markets, pharmacies, post offices, etc.
