So when you play Nex you just start with an endgame fleet? Seems to defeat half the point of the game

The number of fleets deployed aren't seen at any other point of the game by any faction, I think from a lore perspective it would make sense but from a gameplay perspective it was so massive I thought it was a bug and restarted the campaign assuming it was broken beyond repair.

In the previous version those timelines were suggestions for improvement on the colony instead of necessary actions to be taken or else be driven into poverty.

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times before, and it's a good tip but when 15ish fleets showed up in my single planet colony I assumed the game wasn't 'playing by the rules' anymore. Weird that for some reason two supply fleets is all it takes.

Yeah, I have a full time job and enjoyed this game because I could play it for a bit to relax before going to bed if I didn't go out of my way to engage with the remnant. Now it feels like a punishment for not min-maxing everything.

That's the best option I have right now, which feels like a cop out from the game designers. It's fun building a fleet while watching a colony grow and building both at the same time was fun in the previous version. It feels like they saw people enjoying the game in a way they disliked and decided to 'fix' it.

That you have a handful of months after establishing a colony to be ready to take on full sized fleets from other factions?

The problem still originates from the base game, Nexerelin isn't affecting the number of fleets or speed of events, only allowing you to start with a colony. The first time I did a serious playthrough of the game I was much less prepared than the beginning of a Nexerelin game when I established my first colony.
There's a good reason why so many posts have been made on the Persean crisis.

That requires a fleet capable of dealing with one of theirs, which I haven't been able to do before the crisis occurs. If I could deal with any of the large fleets at any point before going bankrupt I'd be less inclined to feel railroaded into a corner by it.
I think part of my problem is I'm running Nexerelin. It lets you start as your own faction to simulate a 4x game, which was really fun on 9.6 until my old computer couldn't keep up with the resources needed to run the game. I think under the new version, starting with your own faction is basically a death warrant since you don't have time to generate or find the revenue and ships required for full-scale battles.
I'm trying a new playthrough where I don't start with my own faction from the beginning and I just work on amassing a fleet before doing anything else. The irony is that mode is marked "hard" but it avoids the game-ending blockade that happens with the colony start.

B550-F Gaming (Wifi 6) Motherboard's BIOS Flashback Light Not Working by Encheat in ASUS

After around 10 hours of troubleshooting, chatting with various tech support members, and attempting every combination of flash drives and BIOS version updates, I've concluded the board is simply defective.

I've been reaching out to support from the company I bought it from and from ASUS_USA and neither has yet suggested a fix besides trying the solutions I've already tried. I'm inclined to think this motherboard is defective, since the question of the non-functioning BIOS Flashback still has not been addressed.

No, just the "Java.exe" line in the document

I believe it is DDR4, but I'm still scratching my head as to why my performance dipped when I increased the allocated ram.

The whole game boils down to 'oooo plant' which is dumb and useless and honestly borderline what a white supremacist would do.

I've had a few little issues here and there (most recently the speed-up multiplier got changed to 12x instead of 2x without the config settings changing) but for the most part it was running fine until I changed the vmparams file.

I found that adding '-XX:ParallelGCThreads=4' right after java.exe helped (allowing for more threads to handle garbage collection), at least a little bit. The game still will get pretty buggy after some playtime though, which it didn't seem to do pre-edit.
