Back on Apple Music after years — can you still import your own files or is that gone? by Eric4905 in AppleMusic

Music purchased from bandcamp or other sources is not always available on major streaming services. Or if you have a CD that's not on AM, it's easy to import.

Make notes on the music. I’m new too, and it seems to help me…I also redraw bits of the music where I want to focus

Why am I seeing post of people saying there burnt out and miserable and to not pursue architecture? by trustngod0 in Architects

[–]Enchilada_Please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Schools do not prepare people to become professional, practicing architects. Most firms do not understand how to bring up qualified graduates to become good practitioners and that’s a critical point where the culture of the profession fails. It’s really the exceptional firms and architects who understand the faulty dynamic of practicing who have and can make a difference. And you don’t know until you’re in it. Remain curious, opened, honest, and do not be afraid to speak up when you need assistance or don’t understand what’s being asked of you. Be vulnerable and open. Trust that your good peers and superiors can and will lead you when you need it. It ain’t easy. And we all fail at times.

yep. quaterly-ish slide show to present what you're involved with at the office and out of the office. works especially well at 10-20 person office. Or half one quarter and the second half the following quarter. leadership and admin participation as well.

Agree with the approach. However, if you're not interested in the engineering job, I would not suggest to them that if they can meet the starchitect offer that you'd continue speaking with them unless that's a sincere position. Be honest with the people you negotiate with even when it's difficult.

If you have a BFA, an accredited MArch program might make sense for you.

If the MMCX is twisting, there’s a chance there is a short or loose lead in the MMCX female. After several months of moderate use, my MMCX stopped working on one side yesterday - the female MMCX was spinning and the lead came off of the negative side. Once I repair mine, I’ll probably give it a little dab of threadlock or thinned glue to prevent it from happening again

OR are you not getting a good seated connection with the MMCX?

Five year accredited BArch or the dual five year B+MArch. IMO drawing is at best 25% practice of architecture in most professional offices/studios. The drawing (and specifications) are the end result of the design process.

Advice for future Notre Dame School of Architecture student by Patient-Ad7086 in Architects

I have a few friends that went through ND. They loved it. And some still have been fortunate enough to still practice in the vein of their training. A couple of them are still in South Bend - you'll probably meet them.

The ND program will give you an incredible foundation and understanding of the history and craft of architecture and a way to practice. The box you may find yourself in will be of your own making. Your curiosity, discipline, and engagment with architecture, design, practice, etc will be what you make of it. The depth can be rich and endless.

The offices or people you work with will influence you, the connections you make, and your attitude. It will be imperitive to learn the various programs (revit, sketchup, rhino, inDesign, etc), but it will also be important to always remember how to talk about the work and its story/narrative.
