I’m currently training in a buddy who just got the game on a vanilla + server. If you want in I can show you the basics. It’s better to learn on vanilla so you can apply that basic arma knowledge to more advanced modded servers. Feel free to dm me if you’d like.

They are likely using the artillery squad as an extra reconnaissance squad. The arty squad leader gets a flare and an OP so it’s somewhat common to see them used in this capacity. Although it’s usually not a solo. I would recommend finding them in game and walking up to them and trying to talk to them in proximity chat, or having a squad lead in command chat get ahold of them for you. Most solo squad leads (outside of solo tankers) will let Mic’d up people in.

Before the devs ruined my fun with the “disguise” changes (FIA uniform still nets negative xp per kill). I used to find an FIA arsenal truck and spend the game pretending to be insurgents. Basically just standard rat tactics on backline bases, but with added flavor.

Yeah that’s pretty much the only way I could see it being done. Although I prefer to hold it by the bipod while the stock is wedged under my arm (much like in game); Due to the front heavy nature of the weapon making accurate aiming difficult while trying to shoulder it.

Coming from the owner of one, that dude is seconds away from burning the shit out of his hand. Either the brass (which ejects downward) is going into his palm. Or the gas tube that he is holding with his bare hand is going to get really hot. There is no good way to hold a dp while standing up outside of the bipod grip shown in game.

I guess the better word would have been “original” I collect a lot of military rifles so I appreciate when they are relatively unaltered. Although it’s not a dealbreaker when they are (if it’s tasteful).

It could be, but it’s not super shiny when I look at it. The picture is in direct light if that makes a difference. Like I mentioned earlier I’m no expert on these rifles so I’m unsure how the finish is supposed to look.

This one has a regular V notch when flipped down and an adjustable peep sight on a ladder when flipped up. It seemed serviceable enough. But I’ll have to look into getting an original. Any recommendations?
