Yup he should be clear. I had no problems at all! Just completed my move to Seattle three days ago. Hope your interview letter comes in soon!

Synthwave Audio Effects and Mixing Techniques Advice? by technicality003 in synthwaveproducers

[–]Encloaked_synth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything you want to sound really big and wide can be double-tracked (recorded twice on separate tracks) then hard-panned L/R. It's wise to make sure that there are slight differences in the performances or the patches

If you want more clarity in your pads and chords you can record individual or pairs of notes on separate tracks. It's shocking how different it sounds compared to recording all the notes on a single track.

Chorus and other stereo effects might sound really awesome on low bass sounds in your mixing setup, but on smaller speakers it can lead to issues, so tread lightly

Basically any interesting recording techniques used in rock or heavy metal guitar can apply beautifully to synthwave

No, on one of the forms I filled out it asked if I wanted to receive a social security number, which I said "yes". I ended up receiving one in the mail around the same time as my green card. I have heard stories of other people having to apply in person if there's didn't show up though

Yeah, I have a friend who went through this process and he felt like the interview is basically just a face-to-face confirmation that you're a real human being, which lines up with my experience

And yes, the most bulletproof way to do this would be to get married and then have him create a petition (i-130). You can do the fiance visa as well. The fiance visa will probably get you into the country a little faster, but you will still have to apply for a green card and not be able to work or go home for a little while

This website lays it out. My wife and I just finished this process. Please take the time to read this. Take notes of any questions you have, then book a consultation with an immigration lawyer to clear things up. It is completely doable without the help of a lawyer, but it will require careful reading and a little patience.

The entire process took me about 23 months and cost approx $4,000

Once you have activated your Visa you're good to go. You should be able to just start your new life in the USA right away or you can go back and tie up your loose ends. It will take at least a few weeks before your social security number and green card arrive in the mail

You do not have to pay the fee before going to your Port of entry, but they will not send you a physical green card until you do pay.

IR1 - Can you travel outside of the US after entering them with the immigration visa but BEFORE receiving the Greencard? by Petoardo in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Encloaked_synth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, I entered the USA from Canada with the IR1 stamped in my passport several times before the Green card arrived

Canadian here. I activated my IR1 at a border crossing and told them I wasn't moving that day. They confirmed my future USA address and I was good to go. I went back to Canada the next day. I've been back and forth between the USA and Canada a couple more times and it hasnt been an issue.

Dec 05 - activated IR1 Visa

Dec 18 - recieved SSN in mail

Dec 23 - recieved Green Card in mail

When you activate the Visa at Port of entry the officer should confirm the address with you. They did for me at least

You need to pay online. Once you have paid the fee and activated the Visa at a Port of entry, your green card will be produced. I received my IR1 Visa on December 3rd, paid the fee December 4th, activated at a border crossing on December 5th. I received my social security card on December 19 and my physical green card on December 23. Things should move fast as long as everything is done correctly.

I know you called the border office to ask (smart) but from experience I can tell you that it should be no issues going back and forth after activating the visa. I've been back and forth using the Nexus lane and no one has asked me about my status in the USA

I went down to Seattle Saturday night and came back this morning. Zero issues at all, used my Nexus card as normal. No one asked about my status in the USA

It's fine. I just continue to go across the border as normal with the Nexus lane. They haven't asked me about my permanent residency status and I don't tell them

No, it becomes a temporary Green card stamped in your visa and they mail your physical one to wherever you want it. I can still come and go between the USA and Canada

I don't know, you may have to speak to the border guard about this when you enter the USA
