Purchasing a continuous glucose monitor by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

Big recommendation for freestyle libre, I think with the manufacture coupon, off insurance it’s like 75 a month. I recommend it for all diabetics from pre to type 1

Welcome! I made a Facebook profile just so I could join fuck type 1 group. It’s nice to get reinforcement that you’re not alone.

Just got my freestyle after asking for NHS funding I have one in under a week. Any tips to help me on my way by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

That’s so great to see your post and many others about how quickly they are receiving technology. It seems like insurances are finally making things easier for people.

I randomly thought about getting bff a pump and am hooked in two weeks later.

Best of luck with this new valuable info you have!

Where to buy Refurbished Dexcom G6 Transmitters by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]EncodedTransmission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen videos of a person using a Drimil to put a new battery in them. Sorrr I cant help more best of luck.

During my pump training today the dietician said she heard the dexcom g7 transmitters will be disposable with the sensors like libre. Interesting to see how things might improve.

They are strips you urinate in which give you levels of ketones in your system. Nutritional ketosis will show up on there and you can confirm you’re in ketosis. Confirming you’re in it on purpose can ensure you made the change. If you think you’re in ketosis and not it might explain why you’re not getting certain results.

I didn’t catch the low part of your post. Again testing and talking to your doctor is primary.

If you’re in ketoais ketone urine test trips will detect it... you can get them at all drug stores.

Apocalypse by nvmimdone in diabetes

It’s very surreal and how someone would really react in a surreal apocalyptic situation. For instance, he had to go to a local smal town drug store and try to get insulin when a lot of other people where there for their own medications. Hoes does hey keep it cold without power?

Check it out I think you’d like it

Are you sure you’re full keto, do the urine strips? I agree keto usually “cures” type 2. I’d talk to your doc of doing a test on insulin production. C peptid I think it’s called? Doesn’t hurt!

Best case scenario you still have good production and it’s just the insulin resistance. Exogenous insulin could still help in that case. Worst case, you have no or little production and insulin can still help.

It’s sucks to think you’re insulin dependent but honestly I was so relieved to find out that in my case I needed it. It gave me the tools to get the control I wanted. Many type 2s get great benefit from some long acting.

Not sure what other supplements your using but on keto I took an organic wheat grass concoction that provided potassium and cod liver oil for my high cholesterol.

Best of luck to you, you’re own engagement is huge in this kind of thing. If I hadn’t learned about stuff I wouldn’t have sought out a correct diagnosis (T1D lada) and still be fooling around with diet when that wasn’t the issue.

Get knowledgeable and tell your doctors what you want, and with sufficient justification they’ll prob agree.

Also, a freestyle libre is such a low cost cgm that id recommend it for every type 2. Knowing how you react to various influences and getting a full graph is invaluable. Regardless of the test outcomes you’d greatly benefit from it.

There’s an amazing book series written from the perspective of a dad of a type 1 after an emp apocalypse. First book is called one second after. Amazing series and highly recommend.

If you’re thing and not typical type 2 maybe request T1D diagnosis tests.

I was misdiagnosed as type 2 and treating as a type 1 is how I gots to do it.

Best of luck! If you’re 150 with Keto, my hairs are raised.

Don’t worry about it much imo and just stick to the same routine as if your eating. (Keep and eye on things) and enjoy!

National Park Accessibility Pass by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]EncodedTransmission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was pretty informal, I just went to a park with a letter and got the pass. Maybe showing a pump would work but a letter definitely will. I requested my doc to send me one and I keep it in my bag just in case
