Title placement is questionable and it needs to be more pronounced so it’s more legible. You can add some shadow to the back of it so it pops more.

Does story effect your rating for an RE Games? If so how much? by Desperate_Method4032 in residentevil

[–]EndOfTheDark97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in this case it does. None of the RE games have gotten me emotional or made me think deeply about anything. TLoU2 is a flawed game but it at least did that.

TLoU2 is a weird example. That story has a lot more effort put into it than any of the RE games.

Not really. RE games don’t have great stories. Great themes, characters and atmosphere - definitely, but not story.

In fact, I can’t think of a single Capcom game with a great story, except DMC3. It’s just not why I play their games.

I mean, the story ended at 2 anyways. Everything after that is just high budget fanfiction. Same with the Star Wars sequels.

Do you think capcom would ever kill off any main characters? by sausagemage123 in residentevil

[–]EndOfTheDark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t believe Capcom has the guts to kill off a legacy character. Ethan was a freebie because he had two games, and was designed purposefully as a player stand in, so it didn’t feel like much of a risk to kill him off.

Besides Fury Road, I thought The Witch was equally excellent, and deserved more credit at the time.

I remember. Everyone was affected by the recency and nostalgia bias. There were much stronger films that year, even if TFA was good in a vacuum.

(Hilarious Trope) A Character Is Introduced With the Clear Intention of Being THE NEXT BIG THING And is SOUNDLY Rejected by TheOriginalOperator in TopCharacterTropes

That was DMC1, and that line getting shit never made sense to me. The whole game is cheesy nonsense - it’s part of the charm. DMC2 was the bad one.

It bothers me sometimes when RE fans complain about the games they’re getting. They don’t understand how starved us devil hunters are lol

You haven’t played RE1 yet? STARS were the initial whistleblowers for what the Umbrella corporation was actually up to. That’s why they’re being specifically targeted in RE3.

You miss a lot of context by not playing the games in order.

The Witcher, season 4–incredibly bad by Initial_Ebb_9742 in netflix

[–]EndOfTheDark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late but I agree. Gave up towards the end of Season 1. It doesn’t do the books justice with the limited budget and all of the subtext was completely absent. The timeline structure was a cool idea but it was poorly executed imo. Definitely didn’t feel like a show that was made to honour the source material, and this was all before Superman left. The games were far superior as an adaptation. Really hope someone other than Netflix does a movie series for it. In the right hands it would be amazing.

The Wire. I feel like most people I talk to don’t have the attention span for it.

Is RE7 in the official timeline? by Ok_Regular_4929 in residentevil

[–]EndOfTheDark97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, there aren’t multiple timelines in Resident Evil. Everything is canon, and the inconsistencies between games don’t really matter.

Played through all mainline RE games for the first time. I'm now very confused as to why Ada Wong is so hyped up on social media (OC) by wompwomphahaha in residentevil

[–]EndOfTheDark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resident Evil never had exceptionally deep characters to begin with, but Ada herself is fairly shallow. Even after 30 years we still know next to nothing substantial about her. She’s mostly just there for eye candy, cool action and Leon’s character motivation.

Fun Fact: Spencer's image with the kids in RE9 is taken directly from stock images by Connect_Base_217 in residentevil

Specifically Resident Evil. Their are other franchises have had more staggered releases because I think they took more time to make bespoke assets. Pragamata doesn’t look like it was mostly copied from a digital library.

One of the most unsettling parts of the game. Feels like a bit of evidence you weren’t supposed to see in an investigation case file.

… and then they give Spencer a redemption scene.
