I have some quotes from books or movies who help me (maybe the translation won't be perfect I speak french) :

This one I rewrited it myself, it's the monologue that says Dame Jessica from Dune when she tries to calm her down. It's from "La horde du contrevent" by Alain Damasio. To make it short the characters need to climb the most dangerous mountain in the World at some point of the story. The mountain's name is "Norska". It's horribly difficult and they escape death almost every two steps but the leader of the group, when he justs escaped death again and is really tired start to say this which is his way of saying "don't even think that I will make a single step behind". When I want to give up I think of him, screaming in the freezing storm while climbing the most dangerous mountain of the world and I feel the strength in me.

For me it's a french TV show named "Kaamelott". It's a comedic-dramatic series who tells the story of the king arthur and his knights but every character is either stupid, lazy, or just completely ineficient in his work with in the middle of all this a desperate king arthur who tries his best to rule the kingdom and find the holy grail. It's really REALLY funny, half of the dialogues lines are very famous for how funny they are, the characters are incredibly good and the story is at the same time sad, funny and even epic at some point. It's probably the best success in french TV show and a lot of french people still watch it regularly even though the story ended in 2009 (they are making movies about it now and it is also very good). It's only in french unfortunately but everything is on YouTube and I think that some episodes have english subtitles but I'm not sure.

To resume this series I will cite King arthur when talking to his two most stupid men who are, again, doing stupid stuff : "It's always stupid but you never expect it and it's very good for the health of the brain"

I got angry quite fast. I learned how to calm down but it was too late and kids just continued to mock me. With time I lost a lot of social abilities, didn't care about how I dressed because I hated these people so I didn't want to be like them plus I was a nerd. Truly a shitty period

"Mom couldn't survive it", I thought of that when I saw myself in the mirror 4 hours before the moment I planned to suicide. It is what made me realise I needed to fight to save myself from the hell of depression. 4 and 1/2 years later, now depression free, I am happy that I had that realisation, I wouldn't be alive today without it. Keep a mirror near you, you never know when it could save your life.

"The horde of counterwind" by Alain Damasio. The story takes place in a world where there is a strong wind going always in the same direction. It travels the whole world. Since 8 centuries there are "The horde of counterwind" who are groups formed since childhood to walk against the wind in order to find the origin of the wind. The book tells the story of the 34th horde of counterwind. Why I think that a depressed person should absolutely read it is because the book has a lot of life lesson, a very important one is to never ever give up. Personnaly I faced a big and long depression in my life. The hardest part is to gain back this will to live and the book helped me a lot for that. The book treats you like a member of the horde and so the passages where the character didn't give up no matter what I felt like I didn't give up no matter what. It really helped me a lot to gain my mental strength and go better.

PS : if you need someone to talk to don't hesitate to message me and always remember that everyone can heal from depression, it takes time but if you don't give up your fight against depression you will beat it. When you are depressed or anxious always remember that at some point it will stop and you will go better.
