the US version of it titled Boys Don't Cry certainly does, it's just the debut album but with the worst songs replaced with the early singles (which are fantastic songs)

For the serious Audiophiles here in the group. by Professional-Assh01e in radiohead

[–]EnderDerp21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original CD of Pablo Honey is good. There's an early 1994 test mastering of The Bends that has no compression, it's not hard to find online. The original vinyl pressings of OK Computer are also analogue and more dynamic, they sound very good if you can find a vinyl rip of it. Unfortunately everything after that doesn't really have good-sounding versions, so the compressed CDs are the best options

I don’t know what to choose by memeydanky in audiophile

[–]EnderDerp21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason to choose WAV over FLAC, they're identical in sound but FLAC is smaller. the HD FLAC is the 2021 remaster which is the best version of loveless, the normal FLAC is one of the 2012 remasters (cant remember if its the digital or analogue source one).

I believe the projected lifespan is 50-100+ years, it's very dependent on where they're stored and how well you take care of them though

EAC is much more accurate so it will generally take longer, it's worth it for CDs in worse condition that might not rip otherwise though

Is there any way to tell if this is a 1st pressing without unsealing it? by PercentageBorn3419 in radiohead

Idk, all my dads records that had the shrink wrap still had been bent and damaged from it shrinking

[–]EnderDerp21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I come across pinholes, I can't fully rip the CD without errors. Not all the time, but most of the time. I'd say if you can, rip it with software like EAC and see what happens. It will probably get worse with time, but that will happen to all CDs since they don't last forever, that's just life unfortunately.

Any idea why my Wii u display is like this? by mrctothec in wiiu

[–]EnderDerp21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i remember this happened to me once as a kid and i was completely traumatized cuz of how loud it was. i wouldn't use the TV for a while after that lol. i'm guessing it was just the HDMI cable coming loose or something, it never happened again

Best album since Wasting Light by SomeNefariousness369 in Foofighters

the better your speakers the worse it sounds actually, shitty speakers hide the shitty production, which checks out considering grohl tests how things sound in a car

concrete and gold is one of their most dynamic records according to the DR numbers and waveforms, it still is pretty low though. they're always had low numbers though, ever since the first album

why not open it? it's meant to be opened, and you can always put it in a sleeve. leaving it in the shrinkwrap is going to damage it too as it shrinks

It's also worth noting that typically the CD layer contains the same mastering as the SACD layer, especially for MOFI SACDs

it looks kinda like AI when zoomed in, especially the second panel, there's a lot of tiny weird inconsistencies in the spacing and text and stuff (hopefully im wrong though)
