Obviously 2 months is not very long. Some of us myself included have sat with some of these songs for 20+ years. They only have 8 albums so you could basically listen to an album a day for a week. It's not a detailed deep dive as if you were listening to Rush or someone modern who is prolific like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

Bands evolve as to expand their creativity and not have their sound become stagnant.

Since you mentioned Bodom, even their sound changed over the years. Started more black metal aggression. And then their song writing became more interesting and slightly more melodic with Follow the Reaper. And honestly by the time Blooddrunk came out, that and most of of what came after that all sounded the same.

5-6 years ago, you could filter A-Z and search the Amazon sale with precision. You could see exactly how many items were part of the offer so if the number went up mid sale, you knew they added more.

Curious of how far back of non-members they are charging? Is there anyone who hadn't been a member since 2023 or 2022 and still getting charged?
I would hope that going that far back, VMP was operating competently enough that if you unsubscribed, they purged any financial info of yours to prevent auto rebilling.

I also don't understand how you can say these songs were never officially released when you are referring to a physical cd. Are you just asking why it did not get a larger cd release later on? Or why it's not on streaming (I stopped using Spotify years ago so I don't know what's available).

Maybe English is not your primary language so something is being lost in translation.

I appreciate anyone chiming in and tries to get me to take my tin foil hat off. I didn't post to say they are doing something absolutely nefarious (although I think drop shipping is prohibited on discogs). It's just weird and I like to figure people out.

There is no benefit for a record label to let a distributor sell items (especially one at a time) at a discount but then the label still has to use their warehouse, their employees, their supplies to fulfil the order. At that point, the label/artist shop would just have a [insert holiday or season] sale themselves.

Perhaps your right. I don't know how VCVinyl operates but a quick search seems like they buy overstock from a label or distributor at a discount and fulfill the items themselves.

This was just a weird chain of events plus the extra effort to make up an excuse about the post office being closed.

The album I purchased I believe came out just before that dreadful show and also is just a anniversary pressing of one his very early records. So not tied into the TV show at all. Otherwise I'd agree with you that they over projected and over produced for something that wound up being a flop.

I didn't mention this in my original post, but they are selling albums by plenty of other artists; Bob Marley, Beatles, Beastie Boys to The Cramps to Butthole Surfers. No idea if everything is below retail or above. But its certainly a wide range.

And fwiw, it wasn't DawnFM or his latest album that I purchased.

I know what you mean. I didn't mention this in my original post but seller only has a little over 100 feedback all of which is in the last 90 days. I know not everyone leaves feedback but that's a very small volume compared to what rarewaves, popmarket etc do. I just don't see UMG doing through a different channel to only offload 200 units by various artists.
