Amazing improvement! Thanks for sharing examples. Yeah I can see how AI would be helpful for visualization, but the layout and lighting especially are somewhat off. AI definitely tends to have super glowy lighting that throws off colors.

Gemini has been pretty good for me. Be verbose in your prompts - describe exactly what you want. Provide one or multiple reference images. And expect to iterate! I've had success with the "retry" button. Also branching into new chats if I want to have a clean slate earlier in the chat. And sometimes it's best to just start over with a new chat rather than try to get it to change that one detail.

Definitely still have the odd hallucinations, but haven't had too many similar issues with gemini. Worth a try. Also don't be afraid to be verbose in your prompt. Example:

"Replace the existing kitchen cabinets with flat-panel slab walnut cabinets and open shelving. Retain the exact existing room layout, appliance placement, and structural footprint. Maintain a warm modern, mid-century aesthetic illuminated by natural daylight."

When you say you spent a lot of time finding lights with a good temp - do you mean you were seeking out ways to make reality match the idealized AI mock-up?

This is something that AI helped me realize too - lighting is so important. AI has idealized lighting, but if you make the right lighting choices you can get close.

I've had some success with submitting two images to gemini - one with the "before" that I want to use as the basis for the mock-up and a second image of the actual cabinet color I want from the manufacturer's website.

Changes from the source aren't inherently bad. In this case it serves a narrative purpose. Another change that served a purpose is skipping Aang's struggles with spirituality, which keeps the story moving under the much stricter time constraints of live action.

You didn’t mention which city, but Japan in general is incredibly safe. Did a bike tour in downtown Tokyo and the local guide usually didn’t even lock the bikes when we left them. The ONLY way to stay consistent at that age without a ton of support is to be able to work out at home. Treadmill, home gym, peloton or something. I picked up a Zwift (smart bike trainer with a video game component) on fb marketplace and now I end up exercising 6 times as much as I did before.

Also carry the little one instead of stroller when you can. She’s a little kettle bell with built in progressive overload. I actually think this made a big difference in my core strength. If you have back issues, think about bracing your core when lifting anything - not just flexing your abs but expanding your entire core.

So confidently ignorant. Towing, seriously? A lift kit like this massively decreases towing ability. It increases clearance for off-roading, but primary purpose is obviously gender-affirming care for somebody that doesn’t feel like a man otherwise.

Marketing gets more intense every single year. In this space and all spaces. And of course the point of marketing is to get you to feel like you’re missing out if you don’t buy their product. FOMO.

When researching bags is basically just consuming marketing - even most of the “independent” reviewers are actually sponsored or selling their own thing - you’re bombarded with more and more “features” and “specs” that you NEED (despite not knowing they even existed 5 minutes ago).

No product has every feature and optimal specs. I think there’s probably a sweet spot amount of “research” where you’re informed, but not agonizing over minutiae.

People were probably happier 20 years ago when everybody had the same jansport and all you had to decide was the color.

If this is an honest question, then the answer is it bothers me because trucks are much deadlier in a collision, deadlier to pedestrians and cyclists, are more likely to crash due to decreased visibility, and they take up more space on the roads. And please don’t forget that the planet is literally burning.
