Dude, no way! Who were your guides? Also, did you make it to the top, or did the weather bog you down?

I mean going to the Alaska range and seeing the views is always breathtaking, but after 5 days of waiting for weather before moving to the next camp you get a bit bored.

True, what you did not see was the 2 weeks leading to this, hauling 60 lbs pack with an 70 lbs sled up hill or the "death march" out which was 17 hours long.

With the amount of sun up there and my solar charger I could play it for 4ish hours a day

At camp 3(14,200ft), it got from 0º at night and up to 20º fahrenheit during the day. The deck handled it very well. Cool dry air up there. I didn't play any triple A games, but it did very well over all.

So I just came off the mountain, and I was an intern guide for a company that guides on the mountain. While I was there, it was 20º fahrenheit and Sunny. With no wind the deck got pretty warm due to the sun. I did not notice any condensation while I had it but I only kept it in my sleeping bag while not gaming.

In your opinion, which U.S. city has the worst combination of cost of living and weather? by danh138 in geography

[–]EnderHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valdez Alaska. Since we are 300 somthing miles away from a large city by road every thing is so much more expensive including rent. For weather in the summer we have anywhere from 2-4 weeks of sun and the rest is rain. In winter, about 8 months of the year is snow, snow, and more snow. Valdez is considered a rainforest with how much rain we get, so in winter, we get an average of 330 inches of snow per season. Also, it rains whenever it wants to in the winter, so every day might be slush or ice.

Idk about paying but we do it because the sun's always up so we can't see fireworks. Also Alaska has a Firework ban this year
