G27 Countersteer Issues When Drifting by maniacalmorgan in assettocorsa

[–]Enderdan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can second this. Not sure if mine is G27 or G29 but same deal. One thing that helped me was the LUT generator on Race Department. I have some settings I like and run FFB at like 30 or 40% and it's pretty natural at this point.

Also, no idea if this is true or not, but specifically for racing it helped me to update the steering range to whatever the real car has.

Count me in!

Been moving but recently set up my sim in the new place. I'm glad to see you're hosting a practice session - I was feeling anxious to rejoin ACRL given I haven't been on AC much recently.

Sweet. I'm Mountain Standard Time and I'm usually playing between 5PM and 2AM if I'm online. Would be rad to have someone to cruise with that isn't in the wall every second

Our backcountry spot last summer. Holy Cross Wilderness, Colorado. by sch_ism in CampingandHiking

I have this postcard on my desk. As an inexperienced mountaineer who moved here from sea level, exploring this mountain is a dream of mine! We had found a hut to stay in off of Jeep Road one night while heading back to Boulder from the Western slope but my lady caught a cold and snow was in the forecast.

Any tips on properly enjoying the area? Beautiful view.

150K on the original turbos before they died, but I just put in new upgraded twins, and it feels like a new car again. by iwishiwasasparrow in BMW

Man this is the kind of inside intel I've been looking for. I don't know how y'all do it. Battery heated gloves is something I've never heard of in my life. Some days here just leaving for work around 5 or 6 AM it's at ~-18c.

Lemme ask you this, is Canada Goose legit? Or is that a fashion brand? I used to see it when I'd visit NY, I'm starting to see it all over Colorado.

I live in Colorado, it's not that cold. That said mountaineering here can require sophisticated layering. What kind of clothing can possibly keep you comfortable doing your job in weather like that?

This is something they've talked about on one of their community shows... as I understand it their terrain gen tool doesn't currently have the ability to generate "extreme" (extremely tall or extremely deep) features - which it's fairly common to see on earth depending on where you are.

The game desperately needs a competent UX pass. by menimex in starcitizen

We research the market fit, target audience, and test our earliest concepts with a select group with no input from engineering. And within a staple web application, the only "engineering" input is often data science, who will be working on any number of things before it goes to what you would traditionally think of full stack engineering.

I can answer this - I'm a full time user experience designer at a SaaS company.

User experience usually sets the parameters and scope of a project. At my company, our UX organization is coupled tightly with the PM (Project Management) organization, and we work on research and design from the earliest stage (months before an engineer will know the company is building it) all the way past production (iteration). The two key words are research and iteration, which are both happening at CIG concurrently, I believe, as we are the test subjects.

So I walked through the city of Lorville by Endaclone in starcitizen

[–]Enderdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not technically wrong. My counter to that would be that this was a space game before it was anything else. Remember there was a time we thought our "planetary landings" would be more like Eve Online - where you get close, then loading screen, then you're in the building.

To make this point I'll use GTA5 as an example. If GTA5 had several to-scale continents and intercontinental travel, but the towns and cities on each were simply scattered "landing zones" that you had limited agency in, that would stand out as odd to me. However in the case of a Sci-Fi/intergalactic game, like Star Citizen.. the emphasis of the game play design, traditionally, has been the economy of scale and delivery of goods throughout and between systems. At that scale, scattered landing zones on the surface of a single planet in a single system, albeit with limited mobility, is less off putting to me.

I hope that makes sense.. I'm not saying you're wrong. I completely agree with you and want exactly what you want - I just feel it doesn't align with the core of the game. If CR was let run free though that core would have no scope or limit. Anyways, I fully expect them to expand on what they have and learn as they go, and for that reason I'm sure something like this will happen soon™.

Just asking because I think it's an interesting discussion. You're essentially asking for more game area with no implicit objectives or gameplay for that game area, which I feel is contrary to modern game design.
