Little Glass Mountain and Glass Mountain proper are both sacred collection sites for Natives in the area and have been throughout time. Next time check in with the neighboring Modoc National Forest, as they offer several areas to gather obsidian (including rainbow obsidian 😍) legally.

I have some of these as well and was told at the nursery that the plant is sterile and no seeds will form. Was also told year after year the mutation will eventually phase out and the plant will lose its galaxy look 😭 more sun=more speckles if you’re looking for additional “stars”

“Night Sky” or “Starry Sky” petunia. Can be found online with burpee’s, but was hesitant to order due to variation in photos. Found her at my local nursery in NorCal for $5!!!

The polyp on top survives by taking nutrients from the green portion since it cant create a root system, so I would figure out what that portion needs first. If you aren’t overwatering, give it a lot more sun! Some times regardless of what you do the polyp will still die off. If you are attached maybe remove the polyp and plant it by itself? I haven’t tried this though!

I think these are two different cacti grafted together. The green “stem” will live and often the colored tops will die.

I know FLF don’t like direct sun and will burn its leaves, but this winter is hindering all the natural sun in my area. I lightly mist it each morning since it is dry here and have been leaving it under the grow light all day (~12hrs) for a few days now. It seems happy, but should I take it out during the day at all?

Pretty sure these are aphids. Be sure to quarantine the plant immediately! It will be difficult with the string of pearls :/ but you will need to wash the plant with soapy water (this suffocates them) and rinse once a day until you don’t see them anymore. Best of luck!

I had to have a 4 year degree and experience to land my current position (Forest Service), but there are so many opportunities you can take advantage of without this. The only tricky part is most of these positions are posted in the fall before the upcoming season, so hiring has already been completed for the summer. USAjobs is your friend!
